What time do you think the pubs open in Manchester?Got day 3 tickets, not sure what there is round the ground tbh. Was just going to drink in town and get the tram up
Canal Street is cannyWhat time do you think the pubs open in Manchester?Don't think I've ever really drunk around OT but there's plenty of bars within walking distance at Salford Quays or a little further to Castlefield. If you go for the latter you're more or less back to town anyway.

Canal Street is a good area, regardless of sexual preference & Chinatown is just across the road!I am being serious, one of my friends from Devon is gay, we had a great night out down there, didnt get back to my hotel until 07:30, f***ing wasted all the next day![]()

There is a rail strike on day 3. Includes GM tram drivers
Just shows I haven’t got a clue what day it isThere is a rail strike on day 3. Includes GM tram drivers
My mistake, the strike is days 2 and 4.
Days 2 and 4, but the tram has run fine on previous strike days. There is a rail strike on day 3. Includes GM tram drivers

Might be different as aren't ASLEF off as well? Metrolink drivers had their owned planned strikes (which they called off just in time for Parklife Festival) a few weeks ago.Interesting. I am sure the GMT website said otherwise, but I bow to your local knowledge!

Remember if you do catch the tram, the trams to Altrincham which stop at OT will be packed out, so get one to Wharfside (Trafford Centre line) or Firswood (Airport and/or Didsbury lines) and walk. 10 minutes max from either.
Assuming they're running, the trams coming from Alty beforehand and then to Alty after, are fine.Thanks. We are going to be coming in the other direction (commuting from Chester and thinking of parking in Altrincham on the strike days and getting train there on the other days). We will get there somehow![]()
