it looks a bit weirdly grim now i guess if you're walking around the ground you'd be under (what's now the trapdoor) you'd be enclosed in somehow, maybe you'd be able to walk in front of it?

i reckon it will obscure the view of the castle from some parts of the don robson anarl

There’s a walkway between the upper and lower tiers of seats in front of the hotel which appears to connect the trapdoor to the seats in front of the gym. (If that’s what you meant)

No i meant if you're walking the other way. At the minute you'd really behind the trapdoor but that is boxed off in the picture and would have to be otherwise you could just wander in as there's no gate (on the pictures) by the rowing club side. Hopefully there'll still be a way in and not makes you walk all the way from that car park side to the main gate

So you’re saying what will happen to the existing gates 5 & 6?

There’s a plan view of the development which will have the answer, I think. Must say I didn’t think of that when I was looking at the presentation. It might have been useful to have taken a photo of it to post on here. Doh.

Would have a loved a stand with a roof (Hollies-style) on the trapdoor side for atmospheric reasons but if not that design’s the next best thing imo. Looks superb.

Are there any ideas on timescales?

I suppose the hotel will have a bar area? Just thinking in terms of when it's wet.

The video makes it look like theredi be public access amount the river where the gate is now - obviously that would let people walk in free if not patrolled/access from rear of stand

I predict long delays while someone has to call reception to get Mrs Bloggins in room 234 to shut her window
I think that the priority should be for the existing Laura Wright stand to be moved in front of the old scoreboard before it disappears forever. It could house the Trapdoor Traditionalists to soak up the sun, watch the cricket and discuss whether school chocolate pudding was served with white sauce or pink custard :D

Do you mean literally or colloquially?
