Forthcoming gigs.

Aye, an excellent night. I didn't think it was too bad but was towards the front and I'm taller than most so get first dabs at any oxygen that's going. Don't think I've seen the place fuller, though, which was a surprise as they were still pushing tickets today.
Definitely the fullest I have seen it. Mixed with the heat, and the average age , it wasn't going to end well

The who tickets are now half price at Chester le street
Weird they haven't sold well. Maybe their fanbase is as old as they are these days and disappearing. I grew up long after their peak but did get into their music for a while as a young'un, however I can't say I listen to them regularly now and they certainly don't seem to have continued appealing to waves of younger generations like other bands seem to have managed, to remain fashionable.

They've got a Brexit and a Nonce Researcher in the band so aren't going to be very fashionable. Add it the additional boredom of having an orchestra, it all sounds a bit shite. Think I'll wait to see if it gets cheaper.

Yep, that too. The orchestra is a bit of an unknown too. I went to the recent James gig with orchestra and it was great, worked really well. Not so sure Won't Get Fooled Again would work so well with violins and trumpets.

Think the price and the fact Daltrys voice isn't that great anymore is a factor

That said I'm tempted for a half price ticket

Clearly not selling well.
Durhams not really a rock' n roll town, its no worry....

Was there a couple of weeks ago for Warpaint/War On Drugs and really couldn't fault the venue/organisation. Plenty of bars and no problems pissing the beer back out - festival-style setup with loads of cubicles and plenty of urinal-only enclosures.

If you're having a drink beforehand I would highly recommend the Three Pigeons - loads of good ales (Osset brewery) and a great pie/pasty selection! Right next to one of the PH entrances is the Square Chapel Arts Centre which has a big bar and terrace, again a good selection of local ales. If you're after some delicious Italian scran I would look no further than La Luna. There's a bar just across the way from that which we ended up in after the gig which was also fine. Can't remember the name though!

These are all within a few minutes walk of Piece Hall and we had no problem getting parked right outside the 3 Pigeons.
Apparently the last bar was Kobenhavn!
Thanks for the info. I doubt I’ll be doing any real ale or pies unless they have gluten free available I’m more your Prosecco/cocktail type of girl ;)

Away over to Groningen to see Rammstein tomorrow.

Forecast to be 24 degrees in the evening and there'll be crazy amounts of pyro. Might actually melt.

Not gig as such but I'm off to see Hernaan Cattaneo and Nick Warren DJ at Loveland/Amsterdam in August and just a small bit excited..

Anybody done Northern Kin? Just checking out the bottom of the bill & I’m already excited. Loads of new stuff for me to get my teeth into.
Went last year and it was a great weekend but they hit lucky with the weather. Always going to be risky having a festival up here in April and this year was a bit of a disaster with all sorts of problems with the site and infrastructure. I see they are moving to a new site and shifting it to June which seem like very positive moves and the organisers are making all the right noises - I do think their hearts are in the right place. Those who stuck it out this year still seemed to have a great time.

Must be the same organisers as Stone Valley. Stone Valley is usually a week or two later & generally I’d good weather. In my head it’ll be Stone Valley with a different set of bands & vibe.
