Bid rejected for Clarke

Let's face it. We don't really own our better players like Clarke. Were just place holders; a nursery for the bigger clubs. Every player has their price with us. Nobody is unreachable for the bigger clubs. If someone offers enough money for him well accept. If we still have him after the transfer window I'll view him as a new signing.

Steady on, he's a cracking lad and that but its Jack Clarke not Ronaldo and I'm all for being sensible in our current situation but were Sunderland and speaking about the likes of Burnley.

Cracking lad yes. Ronaldo no. In the current climate Burnley are bigger than us. They proved that last season. If they offer enough from their promotion winnings they will be able to have Clarke.

Sure, if they offer more than he is worth as a club I imagine it would make sense but the sentiment behind them just being on loan to us seems a bit much imo. Clarke having had a couple of failed championship loans reputation was falling heavily, he has benefitted as much from the club as what we are now from him, just as it should be.

Fair enough but Burnley aren’t a big club and they also haven’t offered close to the requisite level.
