Congratulations Australia

I am of the same mindset as Brandon like, but there is still a tiny part of me thinking...maybe, just maybe.
Can't help it, like when Sunderland are 3-0 down to a better team, I still think. get a goal and we could still do this!

It's over, lads. If anyone honestly thinks England will win tomorrow, win another, AND not lose another, they're f***ing deluded.

Proper cricket > (s)Bazball

What the fuck is there to be proud of in this nation?

Wait who got called a shit stain? I missed this
I'm clinging onto the white ball world cup double until November as it's all we have

Meh. I said in 2019 I'd have sacked that one off for an Ashes win, and it's the same now.

Test cricket will always be the pinnacle, and Ashes cricket is the pinnacle of that pinnacle.

Aye let’s go back to the method that won us 1 in 17 tests and dump the new method that has won us 11 from 13 tests before this series.

Because we have lost two games to the best side in the world.

That makes total sense!!

All I have heard on this board last few years is test cricket is the pinnacle of the sport ( rightly soo)

Then we get a method that changes our fortunes dramatically and brings test cricket back to fore and to the pinnacle and we go on a run of winning games like not seen before.

Win in places like Pakistan that we never do

And some fuckers still f***ing twisting

People keep talking about the roeviois style of play.

We're soon to be 5 defeats from the last 5 playing bazball. It being against Australia can't be used as the excuse either. What if 5 defeats from 5 becomes 8 defeats from 8.

Then what?

NHS
The ability to queue politely
Nice people and places (outside of London)
Allowing people who despise the country to have the free speech to openly hate somewhere that offers them an opportunity in life
Etc.

The degree of analysis available nowadays means that a way will be found pretty quickly to counteract any new method pretty quickly. The current opposition have found bazball can be nullified by the use of good class bumpers as contributors have pointed out on this thread. Logical justifiable viewpoints so why categorise them as you do in your last sentence?

Can I just ask tho what is a Surrey cricket fan who support Crystal Palace who has said ‘I’m finished’ regarding the England cricket team doing on a Sunderland messageboard on threads about the England cricket team

We are a broad church here but it’s definitely one of life’s great mysteries!

When you see excellence on the sporting field, enjoy and take pride in it if it's yours, appreciate and applaud it if it's theirs.

Except if its the Australian cricket team, fuck those cheating *****.

The current opposition are just good. The comfortably beat India who played conventional cricket. What was also proved in this match is non bazball cricket can also be nullified by good quality bouncers. It’s probably going to be much more common way of playing with the old ball. If you leave them you can’t score a run (and you can’t always leave them), if you try and defend them you can get out, if you try and play aggressively you can score runs with risk. What’s the best approach?

Over 2,000 posts and only twice have you posted in the cricket form, neither of those posts had anything to do with cricket… 🤔

Any idea @Twisted ?

Maybe because it's the best cricket forum around, certainly the most active, and the Palace one, much like the the Hull one, doesn't have a cricket section. The Surrey one, if there is one, might be a bit dull like the Yorkie one.

Sorry gets my back up this "you don't support Sunderland why are you here" crack

Fair points and a good question. The simple answer is to practise playing the bouncer with more control, easier said than done. That particular skill has been lost in modern cricket as players take their eye off the ball when attempting the hook.

Dear god…..

I think that a poster is allowed to post wherever they want to.

If you had 10,000 posts in this sub-forum but made 1 post in the diet & exercise forum then I would be more than happy to engage politely with you.

I’m not sure why you had to tag another user?

I havent seen anyone suggest we go back to going at 2 an over boycott style. But surely this is a lesson that we should apply pragmatism where its needed? The way we've thrown our wickets away has been nothing short of a joke and that's why we're in the position we are
