Bid rejected for Clarke

They making a serious bid this time or still piss farting about making insulting offers?

£20 million is the starting point, lewis potter went to brentford for that.

Crux of this debate is simple, if the club believe a bid for any of our players is right, whether that be money or length of contract or cover in that position or ready made replacement, then we’ll sell, if they don’t tick the right boxes we won’t. it’s whether we trust them to know more than we do and to be doing it with the club’s best interests at heart.

Got some quotes about it?
im sure its definitely not a secret within the game..... are you struggling with the fact that there may may be an alternative explination to your own? Im prepared to admit the plausibilty of both our points of view i feel on the balance of probabilities mine is the more valid....it is however much less conspiritorial than yours....do you like conspiracies? This isnt an unreasonable question btw(given their abundance) but it will enable me to know better who im debating with moving forward

You're naive if you think this sort of stuff doesn't leak out for a reason at times. I don't think Clarke will leave but it's in his and his agents interest for this to be in the public domain.

How else are the local press and the national press reporting it when neither club have commented. It's coming from somewhere... where?

Said it previously and will say it again, Clarke will only be sold if a bid of around £18m is received. Alex Scott who to be fair is an exceptional talent is being valued by his club at over £20m, Clarke you could argue is a better player, as good as Clarke is, Scott is probably worth more.As mentioned by others Lewis Potter who isn’t in the same street as Clarke went for £20m.

We hold all the cards Clarke isn’t unhappy, he is under long contract, hopefully Burnley won’t come back again with an offer that we can’t refuse. At the minute they are a long way off from the clubs valuation.

Why is Scott worth more?? Am i missing something? Look at both players goals and assists from last season. I haven't seen Scott's but i'm pretty confident they are nowhere near Clarke's.

Clark won’t be going to Burnley, think he’s only gone if a good bid comes in from an established premier league team.

Another year down here putting in the performances he did last season will open up a lot more doors for him, he and his agent will know that.

You are missing something if you think the quality and value of a player is determined by stats.

It isn't alone, but we're comparing a lad who plays centre mid to a winger. Scott will often be the man before the assist when hes looking to play forward, where Clarke is often our end product.

The stats do speak for themselves though, Clarke's output lasr season was very, very good.

Presumably because he’s a few years younger?

It’s either that or because he plays for someone other than us.
