CC : Leicestershire v Durham

Declare overnight but will be a lot of unhappy spectators who have missed the 11 overs (we were the last out the ground) as communication went out that the game had ended for the day. Glad they got back on as I posted earlier it was ridiculous they went off in the first place, but once it was communicated that was it, you assume they actually meant no more play. Oh well onto tomorrow

Pisses me off, when they come back to play at least get the overs in! If there is a chance to play then why not!

bizarre end to the day. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind. Once I'd realised they were back out and Lees had completed his century I tried to watch the live feed, only to find they were on a highlights package. Presumably the comms team had all buggered off for the day

Despite everything I said last night about our new risk/reward mentality, I confess I feel much happier about 392 in 96 overs than I would have been about 340 in 104 overs, which I reckon is where we would have declared had the light not suddenly become an issue. I'm pretty certain the plan was going to be declaring 10 overs out, so that we could have 8 overs at them tonight

We'd have a go at 392 tomorrow, but I'm far from convinced that Leics will, even though Lees and Bedders looked utterly comfortable out there. Still, we may need Matty P to be right on it tomorrow, because with that short boundary, the bloody kookaburra and a flat surface it would be a chaseable target. I don't think there is any chance we'll come out for a bat in the morning

Got to admit I am a cautious soul and given our league placing, we don't need to be risking losing this one. I would have a quick dart of 2 or 3 overs in the morning just because its not what they will be expecting and rattle another 20 on if we can. That would leave them chasing 410 off 91.

Aye, and Lees is playing beautifully.
Seemingly Lees hit 10 fours on his way to 59, but the 40 runs to 99, when play stopped for the light, came in 2 twos and 36 singles.

How many Durham players have hit 2 centuries in a match? Dean Jones did, Colly did (nearly did it twice, but declared on 92 in the second innings), Dickson did last year. I'm guessing Jennings probably did when he had that stellar year that got him in the England side and now Lees. Are there any others... must be, surely?

That's a polite way of putting it. Absolute shambles. The social media team stopped because they were told it was game over for the night but they did get it back online eventually as I caught the last couple of overs when we got to the hotel. Someone dropped a clanger with the communication. Durham deleted their tweet but Leicestershire apologised for the confusion caused.

Borthwick did it also. I don't believe Jennings did.

Jennings has, alongside Borthwick, Colly, Dickson and Dean Jones
