CC : Leicestershire v Durham

Having now seen the rules I have to withdraw that comment. But I still feel this stinks. The inclusion of Potts as a nominated player was not properly made public as far as I can see. There’s nothing in the pre match information from either club, just the bare team sheets. We would have felt aggrieved if it was done to us.

It not being made public is completely in keeping with the terrible comms that comes out of our club - BUT, according to the commentators it was made clear on the teamsheet that he was always going to be playing today if he got released by England.

Regarding Ahmed, it stinks for Leicestershire and for Ahmed, him not being released makes no sense whatsoever, especially when they’ve named the England XI and he’s not in it.

And even more so when he was called up as cover for a spinner who has been replaced by a seamer anyway

Neither can I, but he’s clearly their newest pet project. I can’t quite understand how Potts seems to have completely fallen out of the reckoning but selfishly I’m happy he’s playing for us and not them.
Tongue has pace it's not difficult to understand

He hasn’t

But he’s a line and length bowler who bowls at the same pace as broad, Robinson and Jimmy, who are all better bowlers than him

We don’t need 4 identical bowlers. Potts will play loads when Jimmy n broad retire

He isn’t suited to the role tongue has been selected

How can people complain our attack is samey then want Potts to play ahead of tongue

95 Run 1st innings lead. How do we approach this now then and what sort of target/time equation are we looking at?

Do we set them a chase that intrests them and risk losing to force the win or just bat them out of the game?

As suggested above, 61 overs left in the day, so if we bat 50 of them at 5 an over we’ll set them 345 ish. That would mean 9 overs tonight to get early wickets, then 96 tomorrow at the mercy of the weather.

Personally I’d want more, but this ‘BadgeBall’

I reckon if it goes well they might fancy a dart at them tonight. Possibly lead of 340.
