CC : Leicestershire v Durham

Website crashed when I tried to load it. Is he available tomorrow?
Does the same for me every time the release news.
The Lancashire leg-break bowler joins immediately and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s LV=Insurance County Championship fixture against Leicestershire.

With 47 first-class games to his name, Parkinson has claimed 151 first-class wickets which includes his best of 7/126 against Kent. While his career best match haul of 10-165 came against Sussex during the 2019 season.

Mental

WTF is going on man?!
Bit strange we didn’t sign him long term then

Bit chaotic at the min for me, just ringing around seeing whose available

Maybe if took more care of our young talent the 2nds wouldn’t be a mess

We’ve got a significant number of international call ups and injuries to our seam bowling corps.

I agree the whole thing is strange on a number of levels, but I don’t think anyone can criticise the club for what has happened regarding the seamers.

I agree to an extent, but this is more desperation I think with call ups and injuries leaving us severely depleted.

Still a bit of a strange one, but can’t fault them for plugging the gaps this season when required

Yeah not totally but no Potts and Carse is not exactly a shock is it.

i am not into these 1 match loans etc, just lack of forward planning for me

I know we are winning in the CC like but just doesnt sit right

The forward planning included getting Miles for two games during a period where we were struggling with a few unfortunate injuries and we knew we’d be without Potts. Then he got injured and so we had to go looking again.

As I say, I can’t find any fault with the club’s recruitment and planning. Injuries happen every year, but it seems like the current situation is as bad as I can ever remember.

Potts, Wood and De Leede away on international duty, Carse, Coughlin, Miles and Gibson all injured.

This fixture could come at the perfect time, in the sense that we might see a spinners pitch and we can utilise Patel and Parkinson. We may well need them to do the bulk of the work if it’s Raine, Stanley Mac and another academy graduate making up a 3-man seam attack.

Maybe. I dunno.
Out of interest, doesn’t matter now like, but would anyone have preferred Matt to callum? I wonder why they sent that route considering most were available, I’d say Matt has the higher ceiling.

Needs must. We are thin. De Leede is away, Coughlin is injured. Carse can't bowl. Potts is away. I think Gibson is still injured as well. I think we are managing the situation the best we can to be honest.
