T20 :: Durham v Derbyshire

Finally managed to get out, DCC staff organised it well in the end as was carnage before they arrived, didn’t move for a good 20 mins.
PES security are a disgrace. I messaged someone at the club to tell them to come out and look for themselves. We had to use the car park tonight as wife struggling with walking and when we arrived we had a blue badge so parked at the front and the PES security fella kept telling me to straighten up and get as tight as possible to the car next to us. I had to remind him part of the need for accessible parking is space to get out, he was absolutely clueless & seemed totally unaware of what I was telling him. Couple of weeks ago Shouter's Dad was getting annoyed with one of them who was basically getting far to close to Shouter when Shouter was dancing away next to the live band stage. We must have told the PES steward several times just to leave him alone, again absolutely no idea. Getting out was a bit shambolic, again PES hopeless, no real idea. They must cost the club a fortune and inside the ground a lot just seem to stand about. The club stewards are spot on though.

I presume it was the club stewards who finally organised the evacuation of the car park as didn’t see any security names on their hi viz vests.

Sorry to hear of the issues you and your wife faced

Yeah that will be the Durham stewards, they are a great bunch and always have been. It was just the lack of awareness this fella had, it was concerning. We were fine but the way he went on dear me. PES need to do better, they've had this contract with the club for a lot of years now. The club have been told numerous times though & must seemingly be happy with the job they're doing.

Maybe cause SAFC supporters know better than to wear football tops to cricket 🤷‍♂️
I saw three adults each wearing Sunderland/Mags tops, but a lot of kids wearing SAFC gear. It was obvious in our stand that there were a whole host of SAFC fans in though from hats, tattoos and little bits of conversations etc and the odd chant. A bloke in front of me who had no club identifications on him whatsoever used the term 'Saudi United' to his mate which sort of gave him away.

Clearly the £1 offer meant there was a hell of a lot more SAFC fans there than normal.

Yeah, I didn’t include kids in what I seen.

The Sunderland chants outside the sticky wicket started up every time a Black and White walked past.

I can't find any written report about the match. 😕Comments on here suggest Durham should have won.

Can someone summarise the match/key moments please?

First Class Cricket on a Saturday? In June, July or August? Haway man this is the FTECB we're talking about here.

such a shame, it would be the ideal subsitute during the footy off season. we often go down ashbrooke on a saturday afternoon to drink/watch cricket and always say we should get the bus to CLS one day, i just assumed there'd be cricket on every saturday.

ashbrooke always has either the first team or B team on

is there some reason they have it on tuesdays? the crowds must be tiny

Don’t agree with the stick Bas and Parnell are getting on here tbh. Wides are part of the game and Derby bowled them too. The difference between Coggers and the other bowlers demonstrated our problems - injuries and unavailability are killing us. Remember that we are missing our first 5 choice seamers for various reasons (6 if you include Ben) and the lads out there are really 6-8th choice for us. We’re doing okay limping on, but the lack of bowling is causing us to play more bowlers and hence causing batting problems for us too

This is so infinitely better than it was the past 5 seasons orso, that I don’t get the criticism. Or would people prefer going back to Borthwick and Jennings batting 9 and 10 and not bowling?

Common sense at last. Excellent post. We are doing bloody well. As I keep saying 3 wins in 14 last year. Plenty players missing and Clark & Raine also missing last night. The criticism of De Leede is a disgrace, didn't see these people (again also on social media) praising him earlier this week. Each to their own I guess but it won't help the lad at all. As for what some would prefer, I genuinely believe some would prefer us to lose, they're always out in force when we don't win this year, very quiet when praise is due. I know that view will trigger a few people but it's absolutely true and Bas De Leede is the prime example of what I'm saying

Do you never critisise people that bowl poorly people can praise players when they do well and critisise when they don't it's how sport works
