He didn't start the season as he wasn't available but his best form in popular opinion was prior to January, then you have folk who say he dropped off afterwards, he didn't, role just changed.

He has very specific attributes that make him perfect for our situation, the fact he played for us make it barely possible that he may or may not be obtainable.

Granted he was on good form for half a season when he was here, however that was a long time ago and the club has massively changed since then.. BTW When was the last time you watched him over a period of time marra ?

If he can still put out what he had got then definitely. Theres also the small matter he wasnt exactly stable before his stint with us , was walking round Russia with an axe wasnt he? Has he been a model pro since?
Im not knocking the lad at all he was terrific for us and if hes solid state would do a great job and sort unfinished business for himself and fans . I dont know whether speakman would see him as good odds though and if hes decent money there would be many others about

Honestly, I normally rely upon hundreds of others watching players and then that data being processed through algorithms, far from perfect but usually pretty good. Says he's still amazing and sense check, checks out, as it were. Plus, its Yann.

If it helps, I knew that was a terrible idea. You should never buy someone to appease fans, this isn't that, he has a very specific set of attributes that fit what we require perfectly. Just so happens we have an ace in that he used to love us.

Agree, just said the same on the Jonny Evans thread.Its as if people enjoy the warm comfort of no expectations and drift back to old times.

I honestly believe some people think that players don't age, or they are like robots. I wonder what happened to that Jermain Defoe Surfer flag 🤔
