T20 - Notts Outlaws v Durham 8.6.23. Match Thread

Seems it was my error - being Scottish we only excel at Village cricket so I don't know much about willow and leather - when there were two threads with similar headings it looked like duplication when following up a report, but in my defence - starting 'match threads' before the date of the match rather than predictions or discussion etc is poor formatting and without @NorthCountryBoy getting there first is likely to lead to confusion from those of us who think a googly is a browser for children. (ps there is no 'unmerge' function as some of us have painfully found out in the past).

The point is that the games come thick and fast in the T20 (4 this week) so the board will be flooded with threads if we had prediction, discussion and then match threads. One size fits all for the regulars. I’m sure I’ll be corrected if I’m wrong 😁

I see what you're saying - it does look complex to an outsider, I'm sure @NorthCountryBoy will marshall it as normal ongoing and I'm sure do a fine job, other mods were here really just due to some reports that came in around specific threads/posts - we always try to respond as soon as anyone sees a report.

Cheers. This forum is typically very low maintenance (even the arguments seem to sort themselves out with limited need for deletions) but if people want more merges etc that’s fine. Feel free to tag me in it.

We’ve always had match threads that start in advance of the game, often a week before - because of the nature of team selection in cricket (and of course the long term weather forecast being vastly important) it’s been a practice since WG Grace was a lad that it’s always pertinent to get the thread opened early to contain discussion of that particular game to the dedicated thread. On top of this, it has been generally well maintained.

It’s LESS merges we want and need :o

The only one poster who needs maintaining on here, is the SpamBot who seems to be able to do whatever the f*ck they want wherever they want time and time again.

Meant fewer!

My favourite away ground after Lords
Durham win toss and bowl.

Glover in for Luke Robinson, otherwise unchanged.
