Leach

Things are becoming clearer now, won’t waste my time arguing with the daft bugger

I wasnt arguin, you criticised someone's bowling when he had a fractured back

I mean there is not much more to be said on that is there.

its like criticising a 100m sprinter's race time when he has pulled his hamstring.

Ahmed can’t hold an end mind from what I’ve seen. You’d probably struggle to find any leg spinner in the world that can.
It’s 2023 and Bazball is here, if people want to hold an end they can get themselves to powerhouse. It’s all about smashing stumps.

I agree that he can’t and he’s not ready for this challenge, but he’s one of the few with overs in the bank. Ultimately he’s too much of a risk though.

I’d put ali, jacks and Ahmed in same boat as not bowling enough

Ali has experience I guess that’s the difference, he’s nearly took 200 wickets and was a good test bowler, but obviously that’s a while ago how

So I wouldn’t say he’s a gamble if those 2 are the alternatives

Otherwise it’s the likes of Dawson and Carson who have been bowling in the CC who have overs in their belt. But would they do better?

There’s no easy scenario

It’s why I’m perplexed some saying leach is no big loss, he clearly is.

Leach is a huge loss, just look at the alternatives!

I agree to an extent but Leach sort of did hold an end without England shouting about him doing it so the seamers could rest up a bit. What route England take to replace him is going to be interesting whether they go for an expensive wicket taker like Ahmed or more conventional with Dawson or a complete outsider like Ali.

Read Cook at the bottom, he nails it really

Mo has to really want to be there and relish it. Anything but 100% isn’t enough

interesting piece, didnt know this, Root averages 32.1 against left armers, thats canny good like

4 of top 7 are lefties for Oz
