I like Moeen but he’s never gone well against the Aussies in his prime and he hardly even bowls in white ball anymore

All I’d say is, I think the last year has proved that records before stokes n mccullum are not really relevant as it’s such a new way of playing, in theory he will take wickets,,4 out of 7 left handers for Oz
It’s a punt like as you say just hasn’t bowled
I don’t think you can compare jacks n Ahmed to him who are at this stage effectively part timers
The fact stokes is injured means we need someone who can at least bowl a fair few overs, I just don’t think them 2 csn
Chunky point about him having ti be persuaded I agree with and that puts me off the whole idea when others be desperate to play

It’s likely that if picked, he’ll be expected to hold up an end as the seamer’s rotate, so he’ll get through a fair few overs. He’s certainly not match ready in my view even if he is the best option available in terms of being the closest to a test class spinner available.

Dawson is uninspiring but probably the sensible choice, he or Bess.
