‘Light aircraft’ that violated airspace. And they sent military jets for the light aircraft?
There’s a non-responding jet flying through a no fly zone. What would you suggest they sent? Men with pistols in hot air balloons?

He obviously hasn't read the article as the Cessna was originally headed to Long Island New York then turned around and went directly over Washington and eventually crashed. Given 9/11 they would have been shit hot onto it though I don't know where it was when it didn't respond.

My point was about the ‘light aircraft’ terminology! That has very different connotations to ‘non-responding jet’.
‘Light aircraft’ sounds like that men with pistols in a hot air balloons

Even if it was something like a small prop plane, what else could they send to intercept it and check it out? Why would they not send a jet?

This link below lets you watch the flight path again. It was doing around 450mph ground speed at 34,000 feet at 19:22 and in the next minute it dropped a few 1,000 feet before its stopped at speed over 500mph

Aye though the Cessna has crashed. There's a Virginia State Police helicopter hovering around the crash site now. If you click the link on a phone, don't click the X to close the partial window as it will hoy all planes on. Just finger grab the map part and move the map about to see the helicopter and 2 finger zoom if need be.
