Here’s hoping he gets a nice send off from the Barmy Army.
Definitely on the slide for a while

I just can’t ever justify being nice towards him, with his on field behaviour . That press conference he did after the cheating was truly pathetic and no contrition at all. He said he would answer questions, then he answered none but read a piece of paper in front of him . This was in those days of pre hetton as I think it’s still on the forum deep down the pages though

in fact , good riddance

Not many players I'm glad to see retire for non cricketing reasons but he's one. The game will be much better without him, Smith and Kohli, although I'm sure others will have taken over the mantle by time they've gone

You think cricket will be better without Smith and Kohli?

wtf?

Do you realise how important Kohli is to test cricket?

He's important to India, and they'll produce someone else just as good, as he used to be anyway, hopefully with a better attitude

I dont get your point at all

so because you dislike players you want them to retire

imagine the last 10 years without Smith of Kohli?

Imagine this Ashes without Smith? be nowhere near as good

very strange, very strange that.

If there's someone I don't like, I'll be happy to see the back of them, yes. Don't know what your point is either. Aussies won't suddenly lose interest once Smith goes and neither will Indians with Kohli

This upcoming Ashes would be nowhere near as good without Smith

you need rivalries, that is literally the whole point of sport mate.

I'd say wanting the retirement of some of the world's best players when the importance of test cricket is becoming less and less every year is a pretty strange opinion like.

Great players have come and gone and been replaced with other great players for decades. Do you think there are suddenly going to be teams of no hope plodders once those two have gone?

Great players who aren't complete arseholes, that's all I ask. Laras, Tendulkars, Warnes etc

So?

Its good to have people to dislike

He is absolutely vital to test cricket, and keeping Indians interest in it

if India lose interest in test cricket its absolutely fucked.

No it's not. If India fucked off cricket would be fine.... Albeit not driven by the money it is now.

India loved cricket before Kohli and will continue to love cricket after the bellend has gone.

So you wish Smith was not in the ashes? thats utterly baffling that like.
BTW, its a seperate point

but if you think Lara would exist in the current climate as a test great then you are naive

He'd not even be playing test cricket
