Cheers both. I think you are both correct but the omission of Foakes imo, is just not right

from them declaring him the worlds best , to not even in the squad m just doesn’t make sense to me

it smacks of double standards when compared with my favourite opener

They meant best gloveman to boost his ego, he isn’t the best all round package in England never mind the world

Already been moaning about it for 3 weeks, whole summer ahead, give it a rest

You may be overthinking this. I’m pretty sure they never have a second keeper in announced home squads anyway. There’s no spare spinner either.

There is no spinner in the squad all this hype around leach under the new regime. His average is actually worse almost 40 per wicket.

The Aussies will go after him if Stokes can’t bowl and he faulters. It’s a hell for an ask for any 3 seamers to take 20 wickets.

I keep looking for improvement in Leach he still gets no loop and drop also does not very his pace enough. Hope he goes well but can see he getting carted all round the park.

Root is the designated second spinner if leach is blasted out of the game
 
Whether it was right to drop Foakes or not will probably be dependent on how well Crawley does, but hindsight is a great thing.
