Forthcoming gigs.

It sells well - but i think there are always a few tickets available last minute. It's a really good sized festival - around 10k people - so enough to have a good atmosphere, but not too big.

There's 5 of us who go - all lads - and it's our annual weekend away from the wives! You should definitely go with a few mates, as we have such a laugh - mainly just pissing about having a few beers - the music is brilliant, but often secondary ;)

I would never go back to a 'big' festival again now (even if i could get Glastonbury tickets!!)

I want to do a few more of the smaller/mid sized over the next couple of years - Deershed looks good - we saw PSB and Panic Shack @ BT last week and i'd fully recommend both 👍

Yeah i really wanted to do bearded theory.

Did deershed, doune the rabbit and end of the road last year, was planning for bearded, deershed and blue dot or krankenhuis this year. As well as local ones

I was up in Scotland years ago in my mates camper-van with my wife and kids and we went to Doune The Rabbit Hole too - great little festival.
My wife was pissed off as she normally can’t stand festivals…….but reluctantly quite enjoyed it 😉

Last year was apparently the first year after it had really expanded, was somewhere in the 10k range. Dead canny, although apparently they didn't pay a load of the bands and that, the e up this year looks shite by comparison. A few decent names but nowhere as good as last year, probably for the above reason

Wow that's a big growth in a few years - was around 2,000 or so when we went i think circa 2014?

Yes last's year line-up looked great compared to this....shame if they have tried to grow too quickly?

She's playing primavera next week that I'm at and is clashing with St Vincent and the Pet Shop Boys, dont know what to do!

Jeez, that's a toughie!! I love St Vincent but I'd have to put her in 3rd place. Would never usually consider missing PSB as a live festival headliner, but I think Rebecca would drag me away.

How much distance is there between stages?

not that much, its a pretty small site, self esteem and st vincent dont overlap by much but PSB are in the middle. I've seen PSB a few times but somehow never seen the other two.

Oof that's awkward. All quite overlapping styles you'd think you'd make it possible to see them all.

Tricky as I've not seen st Vincent so I'd probably do that. Pet shop boys on the backend of their career so maybe id put them above self esteem, but maybe for that reason you could argue either way - self esteem shows are only gonna get bigger and less intimate. She's class
Self Esteem just been added to Green Man. I am officially delighted.
Yeah i may be doing an about turn and coming to green man now. Had to miss bearded theory and jacking in the day job now so will be easier (although common sense dictates i should be more frugal with money not less 🤔

Went to the Witham in Barnard Castle this evening to see the Claire Martin Trio. Cracking gig, great to see jazz and blues alive and well.

Could hear them doing a little practice down the road from me earlier. Wish I’d got tickets.
I was there at the AM's Manchester gig tonight. I'm not a big fan of theirs but I'm sure it ticked all the boxes for the fans. I just thought it was pedestrian myself and they didn't seem to break a sweat ever or make much of an effort... zero engagement with the crowd and looked to be going though the motions a bit but perhaps that's just their style. A few inconsiderate idiots spoiled it a bit too mind, which never helps.
