Bid rejected for Clarke

My 'ten pence' on this, surely Clarke himself knows he f*cked up last time he had a 'big' move and jumped to early, and he needs to develop his game still, even now.
I think we will get another season out of him - maybe thats me hoping rather than reality but hope he stays!
I think that's how he'll see it, obviously every player has his price and if an offer does get accepted it would be hard to turn down the wages and the fact the club are happy to sell at that price.

As Fabrizio Romano tweeted the club see him as vital to promotion and promotion gets us far more money than what selling Clarke could bring in to the club this summer.
I’m not sure he’ll get his head “turned” by the offers but as you say if a massive one comes in, we’ll accept and so will we. Can’t see him downing tools or being a problem over a rejected £9m bid though

Think someone earlier in the thread summed up our stance perfectly. We've lost Amad who was an integral part of our success last season, to then lose Clarke would have us very much starting from scratch. The club are looking to bring forward their premier league ambitions so retaining him will be top of their list... Same goes for Stewart.

You said we signed him in the middle of an historic season????? How many had he scored as he was injured when we signed him

He was playing for us?

I'm confused tbh
I don’t think so mate. He was being played on the wing and having issues with his hamstrings. He’d never been hugely prolific before coming here - it’s just such an impressive signing (and coaching since he’s been here) by us.

He was in the middle of scoring 25 goals for the season that's 10 more than he's scored before, or since
He’d scored 2 iirc

You do not

Edit: Lads, the 'he' in my original comment was Wyke. We signed Stewart when he (wyke) was in the middle of an historic season.

Anything north of 12 million and hes a goner for me, id like us to hold out for as close to 20 as possible however i dont see that happening.
Tough if the player becomes unsettled. Only natural to want another crack at Premier League. Brentford are a decent team. Not like jumping to Luton or Sheff United whom I expect to struggle to stay up.
