Bid rejected for Clarke

Clubs usually don't put a bid in unless they've already got the nod from the player's agent that the player is interested in the move. It'll take more than £9m but I fear we could lose Clarke this window.

Can’t blame clarke

Money will be set for life money

We should show some ambition, pay him with an agreement to sell if no promotion.

Agreed. But we are reported to be negotiating a new deal. I imagine that's with a pay increase when he has 3 years left still.
Say we put to £30k a week, decent pay rise, but still 10k a week less than Burnley would probably pay.

Difficult to turn down an extra half a million quid a year

Would love it if he stays but when three prem clubs come calling. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t fancy the challenge of going to one of them.

If he does go then bidding needs to start at double this reported rejected fee. The lads class.

I think half a million a year isn't a big deal to him tbh at this stage. He will already be a millionaire. 60k a week I'd agree.

But think if he wanted to stay then 500k a year wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Or we could sell Dan Neil and he is very replaceable.
Disagree strongly. An excellent and improving young player who has been a strong and reliable presence in midfield . People massively underestimate how difficult it has been for him to anchor the midfield without a settled partner

It is but he is apparently happy here so maybe he will be happier on more money.

We have to hope he stays here, but you can't blame the lads who do move for the money. Especially to teams like Burnley, Brentford etc.

Go there on £40k a week with a good chance your playing most weeks, do well for a season and maybe one of the big boys come in for you

Tbf if he is going to be sold then the news theres allegedly numerous clubs interested tells us the club should be playing them all off against eachother for the highest possible fee.

Or, he signs a new contract here.

Dont see him signing a new contract if the interest is genuine, to be honest.

The club has done class to get him tied down to the length they did, value wise when put next to some players sold recently he will not be cheap and a prem wage would mirror that, anything we could wouldn't touch it.
