It's not great though when we'll likely owe Spurs 20% sell on fee. He's been absolutely fantastic. We need to be playing hardball here, he's only 22 and is contracted until 2026, we should be aiming for £25-30m minimum.Recon 15-20 million would be the accepting bid imo
£9mRumours suggested we paid £10m, although unlikely, however we'll also owe Spurs a percentage no doubt which will also need to be factored in.
I'll be absolutely gutted if we lose Clarke mind, even more so if it's for a paltry few.
It's a disrespectful offer imo.whilst i do feel we'll unfortunately end up selling him you've got to be looking at at 2.5x that amount before we even engage anyone in conversation
Or we could sell Dan Neil and he is very replaceable. It's a real toughie for the club.
Sell Clarke = £20/25m to strengthen the team.
Keep Clarke = probably around £6/7m transfer kitty (going off rumoured costings from last year).
I don't want the lad to leave, but it would be interesting to see what the recruitment set up could do with a substantial amount of money behind them.
Oh I know mate I agree but I can see us selling at that mark we paid what £10 million for him? It's not great though when we'll likely owe Spurs 20% sell on fee. He's been absolutely fantastic. Wouldn't get anywhere near the same amount thoughOr we could sell Dan Neil and he is very replaceable.

We'd get somewhere around £10m and that would be enough to seriously improve the squad in a division where most clubs are skint.Wouldn't get anywhere near the same amount though
Is it not really good that Premiership clubs are bidding for some our players?
Some on the Board need to get used to this as we get better & better players.
If these reports are true - of 3 clubs bidding - it's likely to push the price up fast.
A year or two ago we had almost zero saleable assets or even players with potential to become this.
Now we have at least half a dozen - Clarke, Roberts, Ballard, Neil, Stewart, Patterson.
If silly money (25-30m) is offered I think we would take it & re-invest the bulk of it on players.
I like Clarke a lot but it would then be up to our excellent recruitment team to find a replacement or two (might Bennette or Lihadji even step up?) .
Or we could sell Dan Neil and he is very replaceable.
