Bid rejected for Clarke

Wonder where he got his exclusive from, did he pick it out of vitriol raining down on Kevin Ball?

I hope they were told its £25 million with add ons or dont bother coming back to us
Ooooo the vitriol raining down from the terraces... Kevin Ball couldn't help but go into his shell, set him back years, we're lucky he ever played again...

Is that not what we're doing now? We've went from midtable League One to Championship Playoffs in just over a year.

What happens when we get to the Premier League with your system of not selling anyone? Just hope we can survive because we don't want to sell our best players, and can't compete with the teams with an unlimited amount of money to dispose on players?

IF Clarke is sold then combined with Diallo returning to Man Utd then with the possibility of Stewart leaving then there goes a hell of a lot of assists and goals gone from the team.

If the rumours are right that Spurs have a 30% sell on clause, 9M would give them 2.7M, leaving us with 6.3M.

Taking into account his stats last season, the length of contract and the fact he is homegrown that fee doesn't even scratch the surface.

And then there's still the initial transfer to us which was rumoured to be in the region of 3m, so around 3.3m profit?! 😆😆😆

a lot more but then he had achieved a lot more in football and is a vastly better player than clarke..so of course he cost more than a chap with one good full season in the sedcond tier of english football.
... 82m ....Anthony Gordon 40m ....Clarke imho is potentially better than both

The economics here aren't that complex when compared to the above

£15- 20 million would represent good business for us imo.

I like Clarke, he's super young, and I think he'll go on to have a good career (and his value would continue to grow). But that's a price that I'd be happy to see him go and the money re-invested in the squad.

"potentially"is a good word...so he might be..but isnt now..aits not like antony is without potential of his own..and he has already acieved loads more than clarke...
and no, he wont be better than antony..he wont get near the achievement levels of antony..even if antony stopped playing today..
gord
