Tony Mowbray

It feels like everyone on the pitch and pitchside has risen to give the best version of themselves this season, including Mowbray.

I reckon a few have surprised themselves. Fair play to them, they need to hold on to that and be proud, and also realise what they're capable of

He deserves to stay next season 100%, I’d be pissed off if he’s replaced by some foreign ‘trendy’ coach like

Really hope he stays. He’s a perfect fit for us right now and he seems to have a really good rapport with the players.

The club need to stick with him this summer. Forget this foreign trendy name shite.

The blokes been great and has clearly built a very good understanding and culture with the players. Back him and let him go again.

Completely agree. Poor decision in my opinion. He Deserves another chance, I don't know if I can go back to shit football now that I have watched this season unfold. Not that I know what this other bloke is like.

If Uncle Tone goes it’ll be only the second safc manager ive been sad to see go. The rest had all run their course. BSA btw.

It’s a hell of a risk going with a new manager like, can’t help but feel Tony has been shafted a bit.

I’d at least hope the new lad we bring in plays a similar style.

This.

The job is still, with a squad this young, about developing our players.

He has done an unbelievable job on that front.

The character of this team - they play for him.

Smacks of arrogance - do they think it’s all their recruitment? It’s not like - coaching is vital too.

I didn’t really want Mowbray that much. I had him down as a bit of a dinosaur in footballing terms. I don’t really know why, if I’m honest. I could, unlike many managers we’ve had before, at least see something nothing it. Steady. Unspectacular. Safe. That’s what I had Mowbray and our 22-23 season down as. At times, we have been some of those things but many, many times we’ve played some of the best football I’ve seen a Sunderland side play in a long time. You could quite easily have a Championship goals of the season award just for some of our goals this season. They’re not just long range goals but team goals with multiple passes that get waxed lyrical when Man City do it.

I think I got Mowbray wrong and I’m glad he’s proven me wrong. It’s been a very good season. I would like to see him in charge come August. That said, the club haven’t got a lot wrong the last couple of years so I won’t be too fearful if, for whatever reason, he does go.

Sone a superb job.
Ideal for the younger lads.
I didn’t want him when he was appointed but he’s proved me totally wrong.

To get rid of him would be very risky given the football we’ve played this season.
