CC : Durham v Yorkshire

Aye but you could walk to the Riverside from where Norman was brought up. He is a Birtley lad from what was county Durham.

His neice taught me at Durham Johnston.
That Jones LBW decision was appalling.

I know you and @The Red Telephone said similar on this, I didn’t pick up on it at the time so wanted to come back to it as a point of discussion - I’ve looked back at it a number of times and I don’t think it’s that bad of a decision. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t want to accept it at the time  but I do think we got a free one earlier on, because Bess hit him bang infront of middle around midway up when he was on about 20 and the finger stayed down when I thought for all the world he was a goner.

Anyway, alls well that ends well for us

Correct in both parts! Huyton in Merseyside. Never knew he was a terrier!

Statue of him in Hudderfield and live long follower of the football team - a lot more than Blair and his Mag allegiance.
Another point of note, after dislocating his finger, Thompson appeared to be limping back to his mark for the rest of the over he bowled

Yes we had a chuckle about that in the Don Robson when he limped away.

when are Yorkshire to receive their points deductions and / or fines so the likes of root, bairstow have to leave the club?

Also the removal of test match cricket ?

A view from the opposite side of the debate of how the four days played out.

Cheers for that - an interesting read.

Loved on Page 26 where they were saying Durham supporters claim that the ECB are in the back pocket of Yorkshire and then 'Twelfthman'' says:

"Durham supporters in general or just that horrible Sunderland football forum?"

Aye, had a chuckle at that.

Then saw this:

“It's time we went back to the old way - to play for Yorkshire you have to be born here. Keep the current outsiders Masood, Malan, Bess etc as they're under contract and play the youngsters - no more wasting money on useless foreign imports. Give Yorkshire lads the pride in playing for Yorkshire and get some of those who are playing for other counties back here. And get a Yorkshier qualified coach as well. No doubt this will make me a racist or similar”

It was that kind of ‘insular’ thinking that got them into the bother they are now in to be fair :o

Increyible

Graves long time owner and contributor to Yorkshire decides to relegate Durham, points deductions, prize money with held and removal of test match cricket

Those things did happen Twelveman if you are reading this horrible forum

Fancy Durham’s botham deciding to deduct points in all competitions, withhold prize money , remove test matches and and to lose all your best players and you just think oh well never mind, Yorkshire fans ?

A lot unhappy about the extra 30 mins.

Being at the Sunderland match I was oblivious but seems like that was a bad call. With the way weather went yesterday we'd have had a struggle when the new ball would have been taken. Imagine it would have hoooped massively after an early lunch was taken.

Anyway they obviously fancied the day off shame it failed for them

Clearly that bloke is hard of thinking.

Why would there be a Durham cricket dedicated forum. Hardly the same demand for it as a Yorkshire cricket forum.

This place is the Durham CCC forum. With multiple members surely it's a good representation of views of fans as any. How dare we also support the football club of Durham too and interlink the two on one place.

The stereotypical Yorkshire person is an arrogant and not respectful of others views so I dunno why I'm so surprised.

Seemed to be confusion about the decision overnight and then into yesterday morning. Both Marty and the Yorkshire commentator had asked for clarity as to who made the decision to take the extra half hour but couldn’t get a straight answer. There was also confusion on Saturday evening as to whether Carse would/could bat and so it would make sense to play on if you’re Yorkshire and only need one wicket (as opposed to having to take two on Sunday morning) for the win.

On the topic of the Yorkie forum, the majority of the contributors are actually very reasonable in their summation and several of them were full of praise for Durham throughout the game. Always one or two dickheads on any forum. Also, there appears to be much less bed-wetting amongst the Yorkies as there usually is on here. Yes, I’m holding my own hand up right this minute
