CC : Durham v Yorkshire

Well done to Raine and Potts for digging in at the end. I had to leave just as Yorkshire claimed the half hour and the game looked up for us at that moment but have to say it was one of the best and tensest days of Championship Cricket I've seen for a long time.

Hopefully Carse can bat if required and if not then fingers crossed the unbeaten duo can stear us to an improbable victory. If we do I will dedicate the victory to the Yorkshire loumouths in the Co Durham Lower.

However we really shouldn't be facing this situation as once Lees went we seemed to retreat into our shells (although the Jones lbw decision looked iffy to say the least).

Oh God what were they doing?

Sure @Yahrba won't mind me apologising on their behalf ;)

That Jones LBW decision was appalling. How can you be playing on the backfoot, be hit in the the thigh and be out? Complete and utter bollocks. I left with Raine and Potts batting, assuming they were the last pair, as the stress was doing me in and the chances of winning were disappearing. Surprised when I got home and found that 33 runs were needed to win. It's doable of course but it will be nerve wracking and could go completely tits up within 2 balls. I would put any money on it that Potts is confident of pulling it off tomorrow though. All in all though it was an enthralling day of CC cricket.

As mentioned above one of them who looked and dressed like one of the Dingles in Emmerdale was shouting a bit of shit at Jones early in our innings for not playing Baz Ball. Most around him were cringing with embarrassment to be fair. We had to move earlier in day as some Yorkshire fans started arguing amongst themselves due to something a Yorkshire fan shouted to Bess, then they started bickering as said person apparently didn't have a Yorkshire accent. Genuinely embarrassing. Said Dingle wanabee was shouting other shite during the day, referring to Jones as Cpl Jones at one point loudly

Before things started going their way they were dishing out some grief to both Bairstow and Bess then as @GordonMuchallNo1Fan mentioned one of them who looked more like a stereotypical Mag with his top off kept bellowing out what he thought to be humorous comments and finally two others about my age (so not exactly young) kept just saying, "We'll show these f**kers what for" as each wicket fell.

I also left at 3.30 to go to the SoL. My (utterly baseless) theory is that Raine and Potts, being MLFs, were inspired to hang on by the performance of the Lads v Luton 😂

Extra blood pressure tablets required for tomorrow, by the looks!

Think the stars as just aligning, finally for Sunderland and Durham. My completely impartial view is that both will be promoted

The Jones LBW was a disgrace a 6 ft tall batsman off his toes working to leg. Hit on the thigh pad.

The same umpire turned down every shout we had on the first day. Having said that again Lees, Borthwick & Robinson are such soft dismissals.

I don't know if it's just the case all matches are broadcast now, but do you need any experience to be an umpire at first class level, 3rd umpires would be claiming overtime

Giving it a miss this morning but just wish the lads all the very best. Regardless of the result we are playing some positive cricket with the sole intent of winning and that's lovely to watch compared to the absolute dross served up last year. Keeping everything crossed for today

I’m going down, it will all be over quickly one way or another either result wise or due to bad weather.
