CC : Durham v Yorkshire

Well I left at 5.40pm and have just about thawed out now..Looking at the unfavourable conditions I knew it would be a struggle for Durham today and said to one of the gang that we'd do well to get within 50 of their total so was pleased with our last wicket stand.

We need an early breakthrough tomorrow or it'll be curtains for any chance of another victory. Let's just hope for it being a bit warmer.

Aye, three wickets minimum in the morning or we’ll be staring down a bit of a barrel I think.
Best bring my sunglasses then!:D

Could be an overcast 12 degrees 🤷‍♂️

So whats the top end score you fancy Durham chasing in the 4th innings?
For me probably 260/270.

Need Bedingham to contribute this is where the overseas earn their corn.

hopefully a couple of early wickets in the morning and we can get them out for another 120/130.

Could do with getting both of these 2 out sharpish

Have you ever suffered a concussion?

I follow a lot of American sport and it’s a big thing over there in the NFL and the NHL (and with the IIHF to be fair following our happiness last week 🇬🇧 🏒), just as it is in rugby and football and now cricket too, as it should be - I know how serious concussions can be not just in the short term but also long term and because of all of that I’m less inclined to believe that there’s foul play involved here. I know most sports use independent doctors for determining concussion, I’m not sure how it works in domestic cricket (without reading the full guidance document again) but even if it’s down solely to the clubs own medical expert I’d be surprised if they’d be willing to have that sort of stain on their career if it were ever to come out.
Forgive me for not falling for it but this fella has a knackered ankle which he had to retire hurt for (not for the knock on his head) then comes out with a runner hours later still hobbling and unfit ... Suddenly withdraws due to concussion. Given who the team is as well, I'm just not having it. I'm sure he would have been fine had he not hurt his ankle. And yes I've suffered concussion before

Nah I’m sorry but I won’t forgive you, I provided you a link to an article which implicitly states that concussion regularly takes more than 24 hours to appear and in around 50% of cases poses no obvious physical symptoms.

He had the knock on the head first, followed by a concussion check, which obviously he passed. The subsequent ankle injury is irrelevant, because when he arrived at the ground today he’d have been assessed for a concussion again as per the ECB protocol - which involves a number of physical and cognitive tests - and it appears he’s failed one of the stages of that test and therefore had to be withdrawn from the game.

Ignore the scientific and medical experts if you want and rely solely on your own bias instead though.

I’m not particularly keen on Yorkshire and the way they’re ran either, but I’m not blinkered enough to question expert medical analysis over something as serious as concussion.

Well that's fine but I'll stand by my view.

No bother, I’m going to email Yorkshire CCC to recommend they sack all their physios and doctors and employ you instead because clearly you know better.
I have no desire in wanting to be employed by a corrupt company that is Yorkshire CCC. I'd sooner be on the dole. Good luck with the email but I don't wish to be associated with such a rotten company.
