Revolut has been great for me. Fairly frequent traveller and it's saved me a fair bit. Kutaxabank (sp) is free to use in Spain.

Wise. Got it for China.Looks like Chase is out for me as I’m not a UK tax resident. Any other non prepayment cards that don’t have a foreign currency charge?

They’ve updated some of the fees/limits recently making a bit better for the customer in certain areas.Monzo has annoying limits and/or fees if you don't meet some minimum usage criteria. I now use Chase instead.
I’ve got Chase. In terms of the 1%, are things like your monthly mortgage payment qualifying expenditure?![]()
Only close accounts if someone has been a naughty boy or lass..Chase is really good, I used to use Monzo but heard a few horror stories about them closing accounts

A fist full ?I use travellers cheques
Chase or Virgin, both free to use abroad, best pay in local currency, I use chase myself as you get a notification from the app as soon as you use it. Decent interest rate for a current account aswell 3.1% at the minute. What's best for spending when abroad? We have always been cash takers, but want to take a card this year to use. Mind you where we are going (Greece) still like a bit of cash for "tax purposes"
What's everyone's experiences of the above, and yes we are getting old so it needs to be simple to use![]()
Deutsch bank don't charge in Spain. The Spanish banks all had charges so swerved them last year in Malaga.Be wary if withdrawing cash, since leaving the EU the local banks can charge for withdrawals.
Was only a couple of banks that didn't charge when I was in Spain, most were €5+. Imagine Greece will be similar.
Use Starling anyway on my phone for contactless and its fine.
Wise. Got it for China.
No. You thinking about WeChat?Did you have to register it with that app/ QR scanner thing they use?
No. You thinking about WeChat?
I was told that most payment methods won’t work but Wise does.Yes. I didn’t set it up as my card was incompatible. Was screwed when it came to buying anything and had to reply on someone else in the travel party.

WeChat is their WhatsApp and you require a Chinese person to invite you with a QR code.
You need a Chinese bank account for WeChat pay. It’s a pain in the arseI’ve got WeChat, had it for a few years. It was the card that wouldn’t work.
