ECB could block it. I seem to remember we had a potential investor lined up when we were in a financial mess and the ECB blocked that.

Seems the ECB are better than the football Premier League when it comes to the fit and proper person checks.

Oh how the mighty have fallen, hawking their club around the world to pretty much anyone with a couple of handfuls of cash.

What interest would either the Saudis or the Indians have in Yorkshire cricket other than money making?

How did a club such as Yorkshire with all it's advantages that other counties don't have get into such a mess.

Why out of interest? Should they have blocked the investment in that factory in teeside that saved thousands of jobs? Who gives a fuck if it benefits stuff in our country. If Saudi want to do that fair play I say.. bring all the filthy oil money they want over here. Better than funding al qaeda

The question is why would they want to invest in a sport that doesn't make money?

They don't need to and I can't see any benefit from it for them.

It doesn't add up.

No to the Saudi lucre but if the Indians want in take the money .Like it or not Yorkshire is still the biggest, most recognisable name in cricket (outside India) after national sides . Its a bit like buying history for the indians .
I dont see how anyone can complain about such an overarching inclusive move.

And quite rightly too. I've lived and experienced this region all my life, and I've met some great people who aren't at all like the Boycott stereotype. I feel I have to defend the place and try to show that we're not all like that, maybe going a bit OTT at times, I hold my hands up and admit that. Don't give a toss what people think of me as an individual, that ship sailed when I left my 20s.

100% believe that Cricket in Yorkshire needs a fresh start, which will only come with a "phoenix club" to replace the broken old one, but that's just my opinion. If that were taken over by the same forces then so be it, I'd wash my hands of the game in the county for good.

And maybe there were elements of racism in there. I've never claimed to be perfect. That's all I'm going to say as no doubt you'll twist it whatever way you see fit. I'll let posters I respect decide if it's racist or not. As I say, I really don't care either way these days
There's a massive leap from getting pissed off at social media comments to mercilessly bullying a whole group of people at work based on their race, religion and background mind.

The club will lose its identity as Yorkshire and will be run by Indians. Personally that doesn't bother me but I was very worried when Indian businessmen were looking to get control of Durham

I wouldn’t expect it to lose its geographical identity. That’s what would be being bought surely. The threat to that is not from overseas, but from the ECB’s flirtation with regional or city identities.

It would lose that aspect of its identity that comes from being run by old white men who are, if not actively racist, completely blind to it, but that seems to be no bad thing.
