A theory about the south stand section that’s never for sale…

When we had the tarpaulin there, they were blanked out on the website. They’ve removed the tarpaulin, but never seen fit to make them available for sale due to the fact we’ve never fully sold out. This is the first time we’ve needed them, so they’ve put them up for sale.

Hopefully they just leave them available next season.

Been gone years that, they’ve been made available before.

Why do you think Murray extended? Trying to keep up with the Mags who had also extended that year?
Because we had sold out of season tickets and were top 6 in the Premier League going into the autumn when they put the planning application in. Demand was there as the 2 seasons following the extension the average crowd was over 46,000......then it went tits up.

There isn’t a fan base in the country as obsessed with attendances as ours tbf
Wrong imo. These twitter accounts that take photos of away ends and such always have countless replies from fans of all different clubs claiming they get/have more people there. It's daft though because filling a ground wins nothing.

I’m not sure how it works either, but I’m guessing it may be possible online to do it.
Had no idea you could do that. I thought once you bought a seat you had to stick with it.
People ringing in/calling into the ticket office to change it or cancel surely. That must be the reason they are re appearing.

I'm 99 percent sure there isn't any way of switching your seats once bought on the Ticketmaster system yourself.

SC holder but I've bought a few tickets here and there for family to sit near us at a few games this season and haven't been able to change them once bought.

Used to work with a Spurs ST holder, their system allows a season ticket holder to sell their seat for individual games should they be unable to make it for whatever reason. Wish we had similar.

The South stand used to look horrendous when the away fans were there, especially when teams like Wigan and Fulham who would bring less than 500.
Yep. And that was V the likes of them in the prem too. Looked shite.

Always remember around then (15 / 20 year ago), there'd always be a ridiculous over amount of police and stewards just sat/wandering around the away end with nowt to do with some of the tiddly away crowds. Quite the opposite now.

I agree it looks awful, but at the same time, that doesn't trump the safety of fans. If a solution can't be found with nets etc. Then the away should be moved to where the family zone is now. The family zone should be the NEC as that is closest to the fanzone anyway. Then the corner alone is enough for small allocations, and the right hand side of the south stand combined with the corner will be enough for bigger allocations. This would also mean that the atmosphere would improve, and that fans in the north stand would be safe.
