Boro thread

No idea mate - probably Steffen given his contract is with Man City, but seriously neither us have a clue. Chuba Akpom was a nobody before this season but suddenly he will be our highest paid player. Why? he hasn't signed a new contract. Come on, think about it.

We may have a top end championship wage bill, we are ambitious, our chairman is ambitious. We also have sold Tavernier and Spence for millions. I'll trust the multi millionaire businessman to keep us right though.

So you aren't paupers living on scraps as you alluded to, Thanks for clearing that up 😂

If it was us and Boro we could always play the final at St Jame's Park ......... Just a suggestion 😉
No chance, the ground is too titchy and the religious leaders of the Cathedral on the hill would have no visitors wanting to be blessed before a game in their gravey stained tops.

Never said we were to be fair, just that we aren't "big spenders" like we are often perceived to be. Since Monk and to an extent Pulis we have really calmed down.

Didn't Boro start the rot. Bringing in expensive players on large salaries but still ended up being relegated.Juninho,Ravanelli,Emerson etc . Seems the norm now, wages before performances.

Consistently one of the biggest spenders on wages tho, when you take out relegated PL teams, easy to look at transfers when it’s wages that are the biggest indicator

I don’t blame them, if we get into the play offs we will be in form. If we are in form in the play offs we are a dangerous team to play. Imagine them getting so close to automatics only to cock the play offs up. Lose Carrick, Akpom, Ramsey, Archer and Jones and have to start again.
Like we have done?

I can see why Boro wouldn't want us to be in the playoffs. Derbies (and it is one) are a bit of a leveller. Outside of the top two, Boro are the next best team. I reckon we are the team theyd fancy playing least.

Boro Coventry last game. If we are still in the race, I reckon Boro may well throw it.
Goes in reverse as well mind. Imagine getting to the final and been done by the Boro!

If we are to get to the playoffs and are knocked out, I hope it’s by someone else.

every right to be rattled, I gave you a reasonable reason why I was on the web at that time and you called me a bastard. I do not recall insulting you for any post you have made in the past. There really are some horrible people on the web.

Wages are spending. So yes you are big spenders

I mean let's have it right when someone is referred to as a big spender in football it is usually in reference to how much they spend on transfer fees.

This is all irrelevant however to what you were talking about, which was Boro paying PL wages to the likes of Akpom. For arguements sake, if Akpom is our highest paid player on 20k then we clearly don't pay PL wages. The likes of Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham will pay far more to their highest paid players. 👍👋
