Boro thread

Not saying you did, you would have a paid a chunk of it like you will be with Steffens no way are Boro paying him the full £80 k a week

Fair, but also, for arguments sake looking at that salary profile of the squad. It is hardly PL wages.

I just don't believe the club would have gave a guy who had arguably failed in England and went to greece - and wasn't exactly banging them in there - 27k a week and made him one of the highest paid players. Anyway we will never really know. So pointless.

All teams should fear us if we make the playoffs. Sometimes we may look like Sunday League mind haha, but when we are on, we are on and can beat anyone. Have to get their first of course, but we have as good a chance as any to do so.

The team in form generally wins the play offs
Thats either Luton, or us if we were to make it
Said it all along Luton will go up if we don't make the play offs.

The Boro fans know we are a better team than them and they know they have no chance against us in a two legged tie.

I was very underwhelmed by them when we played them this season.
This Boro fan does not think you have a better team than us. The first game we still had that muppet Wilder in charge and scrapped
a win. The second game we did not turn up, unfortunate, in the game most Boro fans would like to win, but s*** happens, It does not prove
beyond doubt you are better than us.

0600 & on here 😂

At least it looks like a team who isn't recently relegated will go up via the playoffs. If Watford or Norwich end up going up somehow I give up.

Also Boro probably play whoever gets 6th so even if we pull off the unlikely, it'd end up being the semi

As a boro fan it would ruin the occasion for both of us .trafalgar square etc. Be absolute hell on .all ower

Even if you remove the security issues, the whole weekend would just be a shambles. The trains would be utterly chaotic (even more than normal). The motorway service stations will be horrible. The cost of hiring a coach will increase significantly

If it was us and Boro we could always play the final at St Jame's Park ......... Just a suggestion 😉

I think any boro fan would freely admit they’ve been poor both times they’ve played us this season. The game at the Riverside was poor from both sides and we were quite clearly the better side at home.

I personally feel like the playoffs without a striker would be incredibly difficult against any side and that’s what we’d have to do.

It doesn't matter. If we'd had Carrick from the start of the season there's every chance some of those defeats would have been turned into wins and we'd be above Luton right now.
About as solid as the argument of if we had a striker for more than 10/11 games we'd be much higher in the table. Both statements likely true, but impossible to say really.

Potentially. But there's every chance some of them wouldn't.
Totally agree with this.
Same thing applies to anyone though - including Sunderland and the Stewart/Striker situation.

We've also been without a decent defender (Fry) for a while - but no matter who you are, it is what it is.
If a team (potentially) suffers through lack of cover, then it's that teams own fault.

Well exactly. There's every chance we could've been safely in the play offs like yourselves with Stewart. But also a chance we wouldn't be. It's a daft argument. Yous probably would've won a couple extra with Carrick that wilder didn't tbf

With the emphasis on 'probably' and not 'definately'.
As you say - it's a daft argument.

Bloody hell - I spilt some milk earlier , think I'll have a cry !!

Can you imagine it f***ing hell ive seen nowt like the amount of police at the Boro home game was totally overkill for a Sunday dinnertime kickoff local game. Now imagine taking that on the road Northumbria police will be rubbing their hands at the mass overtime.
