Boro thread

Yeah you make some good points, but I'm not sure about the 'wheels coming off' to be honest.
We've had a great run since Carrick came in and I'm pretty sure WE were the form team in the championship for a while, but (imo) it was always gonna be a bit too much of an ask to keep it going.
We had a 'purple patch', now Luton are having theirs and it'll be a true picture after the 46 games.
I don't think we need to be scared of anyone if and when we're in the playoffs, but at the same time I certainly don't think we are gonna get an 'easy ride' either.
Whoever ends up in the playoffs - it's down to who plays best on the day(s), and who gets luckiest.
I certainly don't discount ANY team - we're all where we are on merit.

I certainly have no idea what wages some players are on, and (I suspect) neither do you.
Plucking figures out of the air, basically

Not really Boro had a 30m wGe bill last season.

Over a squad of 30 players that's on average 1m a year aka 20k a week

So no the figures haven't been plucked out the sky. They came from the Boro accounts

Exactly, no idea what they are on. I can make an educated guess that some player from the Greek league signed to a championship club won't be on "Premier league" wages. He only thinks this now because Akpom has done well. But he is on the same contract he was on 2 years ago.

Thing is in Boro fans minds the season didn’t start until Carrick walked in the door, they conveniently forget that at the start of the season they were even money to reach the play offs and 11/4 to get promoted.

I would suggest they have slightly under performed this season were we on the other hand have massively over achieved.

They also have very few players other clubs will covet, their best players belong to other clubs and Akpom will never ever have another season like this ☝️

So who is on the big money? 30m wage budget

No idea mate - probably Steffen given his contract is with Man City, but seriously neither us have a clue. Chuba Akpom was a nobody before this season but suddenly he will be our highest paid player. Why? he hasn't signed a new contract. Come on, think about it.

We may have a top end championship wage bill, we are ambitious, our chairman is ambitious. We also have sold Tavernier and Spence for millions. I'll trust the multi millionaire businessman to keep us right though.

Just had a look on that FMTTM, who the fuck is that Sherlock on there?
Poor bloke seems to be having some sort of breakdown.

Akpom is on £25K a year so is probably your highest paid player

The Boro fans know we are a better team than them and they know they have no chance against us in a two legged tie.

I was very underwhelmed by them when we played them this season.

blf……Absolutely nothing wrong about you being on here. Everyone is allowed to voice. Let’s be honest there’s no Sunderland fans on fmttm….the odd one maybe.
Ive just have a look at the thread ‘Mackem Delusion‘ on ‘fmttm’ and it was actually started by a Boro fan !!! The thread started by SexPom-18 pages long, it’s a ‘discussion’, taking this piss out of Sunderland with absolutely no reply. I cannot be bothered to look at all the pages to check my verification to be honest.
So how is that irony? All I see is Boro fans all over this website trying desperately to whip up a rivalry.
Only turn up when you’re doing well don’t hear a peep out of Boro when you

there’s a guide here not sure how accurate it is

Oh because some website reckons, then it must be true, That same page had Patrick Roberts on 39k when he was here.

This website reckons 22.5k -

Sorry nobody knows.

Same ball park then for Akpom, Roberts was on big money at City s that figure would be somewhere near

No - different. Proves they actually don't know and are guessing. Probably inspired by him being the top scorer this season too.

Roberts had just had a failed loan spell at Norwich, they had cut it short. Woodgate was buying the likes of Marc Bola for few hundred k from Blackpool. No chance we gave Roberts that.

Not saying you did, you would have a paid a chunk of it like you will be with Steffens no way are Boro paying him the full £80 k a week
