Aye even as a stop gap short term fix you can’t tell me something like this would be too expensive to sort out.

Would that stop the throwing of coins?Aye even as a stop gap short term fix you can’t tell me something like this would be too expensive to sort out. Obviously ours would be higher up though from the roof to the edge of the balcony.

The cynical side of me thinks they hope some north stand SCH would/ will move to the more expensive areas to avoid having to take any action.
Would that stop the throwing of coins?
Most would snag on the netting rather than sail through. If the net fell about two rows from the front, any coins would most likely drop between it and the front.Would that stop the throwing of coins?
Things regularly got thrown in the lower bowl. If idiots are going to throw things at people the direction of travel won’t be a consideration for them. It’s time the police and stewards did their f***ing jobs.

I’ll ask the question. Why doesn’t it happen at Newcastle every week. The stewards at our ground are the absolute worstBut there is a far smaller chance of very serious injury with that trajectory
Man Utd fans pelted coins down last visitI’ll ask the question. Why doesn’t it happen at Newcastle every week. The stewards at our ground are the absolute worst

Competent stewards/stewarding system and/or policing would stop itI think GOM made a good point regarding away ends going to general sale. Other than that, I don't know other than people see other clubs doing it and decide it's fair game/acceptable

Have you tried watching CCTV footage of more than 1000 people packed closely together and picking out the exact person who does something wrong? Unless you are very lucky it's sadly not very likely

£50,000 is what’s quoted in the RAWA minutes from the club. Absolute peanuts in the scheme of thingsAye even as a stop gap short term fix you can’t tell me something like this would be too expensive to sort out. Obviously ours would be higher up though from the roof to the edge of the balcony.

I don’t sit far enough back to have experienced any coin issues, and I’m not downplaying that at all, but the smoke bombs and a glass bottle and a dart are much more serious issues. These are items that, from that height, could easily kill off r seriously injury someone if they are hit in the wrong placeCoins were and still could be thrown when away fans were in the lower bowl, it was a regular occurrence on derby days in particular between the SWC and away end. Coins are arguably more dangerous when thrown between fans in the lower bowl because they could have someone’s eye out, whereas that can’t happen from the north upper because our fans are facing the opposite way (not that I’m saying being hit in the head by a coin isn’t dangerous). I don’t know this for a fact either, but from what I’ve read the throwing of coins doesn’t seem to be as big a problem or regular occurrence as the throwing of bigger objects such as smoke bombs, bottles and so on.
Guarantee 99% of The idiots that Chuck stuff don’t come to the games with children. They’ll come tanked up on coaches and mini buses with their mates. If they’ve bread already then humanity is fucked.I agree, if every single fan is searched. However, I believe it's not legal to search a minor anyway so young uns could still bring stuff in?
