Piss take today, in the BCB with my son and you could smell the smoke at the opposite side of the north stand! No good for the people who were close by!

Away fans should have been moved to north east or south east corner next season! A search on the turnstiles by dumb and dumber won’t prevent anything.

Let’s face it, if you were a poorly paid young or old steward required to search tanked up away supporters, would you do it rigorously? I doubt I would. And that’s why the ‘measures’ they’ve got in place are nowhere near suffice or justifiable.

We’ve an owner with a multi billion trust fund. His twin with the same is on the board. The co-owner is apparently worth upwards of 100m. If financing safety measures for their own supporters is unaffordable then we should be very, very concerned about the commitment of the owners.

Don’t see why the away fans should subsidise us giving them shite seats (plus it wouldn’t be allowed under league rules). Someone hoyed a smoke bomb down from Level 7 in the first 3-0 there but we shouldn’t pay for it.

Up to the likes of SAFC and NUFC to put an away end pitchside like we get just about everywhere else.

I agree that a net has to be tried but I’m not sure how one could work logistically that would capture small objects that carry 30 yards beyond the overhang and also not impede sight lines.

A safety net would very likely stop a smoke flare which is the object causing most issues. Its an absolute no brainer to put one there along with getting proper cctv installed and ensuring action is taken against those causing bother.

Surely one thing we can do is ban away support of clubs who've done this. On safety grounds alone. Coventry had their allocation cut to 500, and that was still probably 500 too many.

Should we have been docked tickets at the Mags after the derbies that stuff went over? Not a leading question btw but it’s a difficult issue.

To me if the clubs adhered to the guidance of away fans pitchside then that’s the answer, not punishing away supports, 99.9% of whom are innocent.
