really looking forward to the old stables been finished, same as the bridge..Not sure what else is planned for sheepfolds. I know there's housing development planned, whether it goes ahead I'm not sure, and I'm sure I read somewhere the old scrapyard is going to be a training hub for apprentice bricklayers, joiners etc

Im not comfortable with a business selling 30k increased price season tickets allowing fans to do diy on the stadium. Should have ample budget to keep it a reasonable standard.
Generally I agree but nothing wrong if volunteers wanted to some additional general improvement works like litter picking Etc to improve the area.

Easy to complain let’s do something about it.

30k season ticket holders, a good chunk of whom will be in full time employment or old. And the club has a billionaire trust fund owner, a twin brother on the board with the same, a co-owner worth upwards of 100m and a load of other wealthy people about.

It’s absolutely not up to supporters to be volunteering more of their time and commitment to the upkeep of the stadium. The owners should be investing in it, making it properly good and a place those season ticket holders are genuinely proud of. If they aren’t willing to do that, I’ve no idea why they’re here

Housing will definitely be going ahead, and you’re correct about the scrapyard area.

A Friends of the SOL’ would be a good idea imho.

I’d quite happily give a Saturday morning or two voluntarily to do low skill maintainance jobs such as giving a lick of paint, litter pick, jet wash and tidy the surrounding area as I’m sure others would do.

Unfortunately all Davison is interested in is ailienating supporters at the moment not getting them onside sadly.
Free labour for a billionaire in the middle of a cost of living crisis . Why don’t they just procure paid local Labour to do it

I love the SOL but you do get the feeling large sections of the ground haven't been touched in the 26 years it's been opened. You have to maintain an asset to keep value but also to make it look good.

The outside plans along the Sheepfolds should be good in the next few years.

I always think if you want to become a big successful club again, you have to have standards. Not just on the pitch but off it as well. Little things like making sure you ground looks good and is maintained plays a part as well.

Also gives you an indication of owners intentions, ambitions and vision. If they want their club to be modern, grand and ambitious they pay close attention to it. If not, they don’t.

We’ve seen zero evidence of attention being paid to the stadium and surrounding area since KLD came to the club.

Absolutely mate, agree with everything you've said.

It’s our club and people want to give their own free time to improve things there is nothing wrong in that.

If it saves a small bit of money hopefully it will be invested in the playing side anyway.

I think you need to grow up a bit.

Strange that you tell someone else to grow up whilst sounding incredibly naive. We all pay alot of money for our season or match tickets, if they won't invest that in a promotion push or stadium maintenance why would working for free for the club make any difference?

So I disagree with you and your response is that I need to grow up ? Interesting. There is everything wrong with a billionaire using free labour to maintain an asset that at some point is likely to make him and his business partners much richer . Business partners who include two men who used the club’s money to buy the club and used free labour while at the same time actively trying to flip the club to anyone who made it worth their while . And this is in a city and a region where people are struggling to heat their homes and put fuel in their car. They very much should be paying people to do it . But you think I need to grow up . Why aye

People volunteer all the time. It’s peoples choice. Are you the volunteer police? 😀

If some fans want to litterpick or assist with low level maintenance jobs and it can be done safely why not?

Everyone is good at saying this should be done or that should be done but don’t get off their backside. Ihave been crucial of the owners and of course there is stuff that needs to be done by the club and can’t be done by volunteers but if people want to improve the area why not.

Apologies if I offended.

I get what you are saying to a point. However, it’s our club and I’m not suggesting we go and build the extension.

Plenty people volunteer to improve their area - I have just taken part in the keep Britain tidy campaign not that I want a blue Peter badge. Fans coming together to improve the area in and around the Sol is a good idea imho.

The owners can put their money into the transfer pot.
The grow up part was totally unnecessary. Dunno why you would even consider that after what was said.
Fair enough probably shouldn’t have said that but haway. If people want to give their time in a way that benefits the club why not.

the fans will be long after owners. Let’s take some pride in the club and if people want to do it who are you to say they can’t.

There is a world of difference between doing voluntary work to aid in circumstances that genuinely improve the world for everyone and make the world a better place for people when there aren't the funds to do it...

(we'll park the argument that this has given successive Tory governments the chance to fritter away and trouser money that should be used on social care by outsourcing it to the public for just one example)

... And doing it on behalf of a bunch of millionaires and billionaires (and Stewart Donald) to increase the value of a company they own that we already invest a vast amount of time and money into which should pay for them to do that.

(We can also ignore the argument that by doing this voluntarily you're potentially putting/keeping people out of work)

Of course people can do what they want, i only replied because you told someone to grow up, are you the non volunteering police?

I agree with a lot you say. However I never told anyone not to volunteer as it’s up to the individual.

Forget Donald snd methven. They are history. This is the fans club a nd if people want to have a bit of pride and improve the place why not.

You just get the feeling if say Quinn n Keane were around little things would be acted upon.

Which manager said clocks in changing rooms etc hadnt worked for years. Shall we volunteer to put some batteries in? Come on man this is safc, a once giant in the game not fecking seaham red star.
Need to see the back of some figures who are totally either unfit for purpose or unable/unwilling to invest.

The euros bid… imagine being an inspector doing an unplanned visit to the sol presently?
