It was picked fur Euro 96, Olympics, union and league WC. It was always gonna be picked even if Ashley was still there

England because the have the most stadiums being used and the rest can fight it out.

I think the appetite for football has significantly changed in 32 years yeah, not to mention how much easier travel is these days. You'd hope they've learned the lessons from 32 years ago in terms of kick off times and ticket pricing too.

kick off times were all afternoon seem to remember. possibly all non weekend games too.
