Went to a game in Newcastle for Euro 96. Was about two thirds full with a much smaller capacity. Good location though, easy to get to, decent pubs etc.

I know but you replied about the poster saying the UK get given nothing and quoted the eurovision.I don't know and don't really care if they do
Didn't Ukraine win though, and then we were "given" the chance to host it on their behalf?I know but you replied about the poster saying the UK get given nothing and quoted the eurovision.
But that's not really awarded. It goes on who finishes highest in the competition. Slightly different to a euro bid.
Because we came 2nd didn't we?Didn't Ukraine win though, and then we were "given" the chance to host it on their behalf?
Location of sjp is a mixed blessing.
Obviously being right in the city is dead handy, but lack of space behind the east stand means the ground is a funny shape, which can't help the atmosphere and means the view isn't great from the higher seats.
It's hard to make a case that the SOL deserves it over SJP though(would be nice for the area for both to host mind), but in terms of the inside of the stadium, view from all the seats, atmosphere, the SOL wins that for me.
Newcastle has an airport as well apparently.
I was there for a conference the other month and it was pretty grim mind. Scruffy and drab as anything. Food was crap as well.
I did quite like escalator to the intertoto certificate mind, but I expected more Saudi blood money would have been poured in to it by now.

Eh? Not making it an issue whatsoever, just pointed out that it was appointed by merit and you said you didn't know.Of
It was a sarcastic response to events the UK hosts and you seem to be taking it extremely seriously and making an issue out of absolutely nothing
Sadly he must have let his missus do the cooking that day. It was only Sandwiches and some very sad looking chips, but still a solid effort from a 12 year old though.I like the SOL, I thinks it’s a nice ground. It’s hard to escape though for me the generic ‘new build’ element of it. If it wasn’t for the fact that SJP would always trump it in selection for these things, it’d be a great alternative.
Airports in Ponteland mate
Good to see those morals of yours didn’t stop you enjoying the hospitality of the new ownership. I’ve heard MBS puts on a lovely buffet so hope you enjoyed that and thanked him !!

So it clearly wasn't sarcastic was it?you've made it into a bigger issue by pretending it was a joke.
Because it was a joke you absolute clown
I mean mentioning a crap song contest in a debate about a major football tournament is clearly a bit of sarcasm and yet you're on about how countries get to Eurovision. So yes the only one who made it an issue is yourself jungle book boy
Shit ground thoughWent to a game in Newcastle for Euro 96. Was about two thirds full with a much smaller capacity. Good location though, easy to get to, decent pubs etc.
Framed anymore tweets for your bedrooms from 'celebs' marra? That's what you admitted on here wasn't it?
You did that by bringing up eurovision on a football thread that you claimed was a joke.No mate
You seem offended I got a tweet back off Liam Gallagher so for a laugh I got it laminated
Why change the subject completely?
You did that by bringing up eurovision on a football thread that you claimed was a joke.
So you changed the subject from the thread for no reason.
I haven't said that. I just dont think the SOL will be chosen when it's a England and Ireland bid. Had it been just England then I think it would have definitely been chosen.I didn't change anything you bizarre clown
I commented on the UK hosting various events and sarcastically put Eurovision on and then you decided to rabbit on and on about how they get to host it before bringing up a tweet from several weeks back. It's beyond weird the way you go on.
I'll let you crack on and dismiss SAFC having any chance of hosting a big event like the Euros despite all of the evidence shows you are wrong.

There's only going to be about 5 in England isn't there? Maybe 6?
Suggest6 at most
You were on about it not getting chosen due to apparent poor transport links and on about it being a 2nd division ground. The links are that poor the England nationals side at several levels have used the SoL to play games whilst this second division ground attracts the biggest names in music.
Now unless you have something proper to respond with I suggest you move on
Agree about the frequency. I guess I am fortunate in deciding when I arrive and leave the London office so I can choose GC.Nope it’s simply infrequent compared to say going to newcastle. I travel to London at least three times a month, and try to get grand central, but nearly always end up going to Durham or newcastle.
