The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

Let's be honest we've chucked flares down at opposition fans before. It happens, we're guilty of it ourselves. It's not great but when you get a large amount of people in the same place at once it's inevitable you'll get the odd idiot. Nobody was injured. The away fans are staying there for the foreseeable and that's that.

So basically we should only do something about it when someone is actually injured?

It happens. Our fans are guilty of throwing objects including flares themselves. Why don't we just go back to COVID times and play in front of empty again then?

It's not great when you're pretending you're searching every single one of them and have rejected all other safety suggestions on that basis.

That was their own solution to the problem. Everyone else said it was ridiculous.

Cheapest option though.

How long have the away fans been up there now? 10 years? How many serious injuries have occurred from them being placed up there in those 10 years?

The club Will probably see the risk factor as very low, which it is, and invest in safety measures accordingly.

You must have missed the bit where they said to the fans groups that all options were on the table such was the risk, then opted for doing nowt much at all.

Let's be honest, the vast majority of clubs have the away fans in the bottom tier, a fair few have no choice as they only have one tier, but some that have 2 or 3 tiers have the away fans either under home fans or stacked where the away fans occupy multiple tiers below each other. Some clubs choose not to do this like us or the unwashed up the road.
It's not great, I sit in the North stand and touch wood I've not been hit with anything yet but the warnings have been there for a few years now and believe me if owt hit me I would play on it for all its worth and take the club for every penny I could.

Let’s just hope that no one’s bairns are hit by a flare falling from that height then eh?

Stop being a f***ing prick, we all know it’s happened previously, this is about the sol and our fans safety not some historical story you wish to cling onto.

If you shared the same outrage about our fans throwing objects then fair enough but as you don't all you are really doing is outing yourself as a massive hypocrite I'm afraid. Unfortunately football fans throw things. It's pathetic but it happens.
