WMS Sunderland AFC Opinion – The Season is Dead, I am so Sorry

Pretty sure they tried mate. There’s a bizarre opinion on here that they decided not to bother, which just isn’t true.

Gelhardt’s also been a massive let down and I’m pretty sure no one in the league expected that, considering half of it were after him
Aye. Hopefully it’s put right in the summer.

We have been unlucky with injuries but we were way short on strikers and that has killed our season.

We're 7 points adrift and in pretty poor form. I've seen nothing at all that suggests that we're suddenly going to win 5 or 6 of the next 8.

You can still enjoy these last few games, but at the same time acknowledge that it's very likely too much for us to do. I'd love to be wrong but I can't see it all.

To call this article negative is bonkers.

He should have said they tried then instead of telling us all we are the type of team that’s doesn’t need more than one number 9. Which was the follow up from Dajaku is a back up number 9. Both lies why should we believe anything he says when he lies

Love this Stan the man,👍 great end to a season, its a shame the pope is sick at present or we could have got him over and sold him another shirt, Whickham seemed to feature fairly heavily there shame he's not available now, oh wait he is

It's just to say the season is not over until it's over 🤔
The 4 Easter games can and will change a lot of team positions.

I'm a never give in type, and a lot of the comments on here about not getting to the playoffs at best disappoint me to say the least 🙄

Im not a fan of the “they tried” crack tbf.

Its a momentous fuck up and they were even given the huge benefit of knowing Stewart was crocked within the window rather than after.

Next time you royally fuck up at work im not sure “I tried” would go down well!

The season is over, any rational fan understands that.

Don't talk mathematical, talk realistic.

Been a decent season overall, far better than I envisaged at the start, but it could have been even better IF we had covered the CF position late January .

ST bought for PC next season ( moving from East Stand thankfully) when hopefully we will mount a serious promotion push despite the fact the division will be a good deal tougher - at least on paper.

He's a proper drama queen, to rival the very best on this board.

All squads of all teams, suffer from injuries & suspensions from time to time, that's the nature of football and being a player.

It's been great to see how our young squad has fared against the better teams in this division, and while we've just fallen a little short at times, we've comfortably held our own against the majority of teams, and surprised many teams, with the quality of our football.

Hopefully we'll bring in the players needed, to give promotion a real go, next season.

Even if we don't make the play off's this season, there's plenty to be positive about, with the way things are going, on the pitch imo.

It was amazing mind. I remember one up at Old Trafford I had the radio commentary on and had to go for a walk around Gosforth to try and make the time go quicker! When the whistle blew I screamed out like a lunatic knowing we will all but safe.

We should have. We weren’t ever going up though. Especially with the injuries we’ve had since.
Hopefully we will be in a better place next season but it could be a lot harder to get promoted next season.

We have looked a gift horse in the mouth. £150m could have bought some quality.

Gift Horse? Possibly Finishing 6th, at best? Hardly a “gift horse”
With a striker who knows where we could have finished.

Hope I’m wrong but we may not get a better chance in the next few years.

Little Sunderland has to remember our level. We have the manager craping himself because we are playing Burnley.

Of course we need to be realistic but dear lord We need to grow some balls.
