Moving back home

I moved to Scarborough in 95 I hated the place I’ve got kids here now so it’s the only thing that’s really stopping me going back up north , my dads gone back up home last year and said he should of done it a long time ago … this place now is going to the dogs it’s full of foreigners and nearly every shop is shut in the shopping centre
No money spent by the council oh except to house asylum seekers
 


Due to a housing issue, has to move to Horden last year, in with the Mrs parents. I’m from Peterlee so know a good few lads from Horden, used to play football for them. All solid lads, who look after each other.
Just like anywhere, has its bad parts / good parts.
Wasn’t sorry to leave when our house was ready though

Oh god yes, never thought of that little village type place Dalton le Dale, close enough to mosey on down to the Vol (the Volunteers) in the harbour, my dad's old stomping ground, was on their darts team way back in the day. and that is a great mural on the side wall. Sometimes wonder if it is all about feeling closer to loved ones that have passed while I am there. Up here I have no outside influences to remind me of them. That might be why I like coming on here.
 
I last lived in Sunderland in 1981 and rarely visit these day except for weddings and funerals. When I retire which should be in 1-2 years time I was thinking of looking for somewhere like North haven, if that didn't appeal after a bit more research I was thinking Whitburn. Defo north of the river though.
 
I’ve been away since 1990 but I live In Cornwall and not Sunderland.
I’d don’t think I’d ever move back, so much so, I’ve just moved me mam down with me from Sunderland. I basically said to her, that if she wants looking after then that’s going to be In Cornwall as I’m not moving up. She’s been with me since October. This is my Cornwall and this is my home.

Surprised you haven’t been flamed for this yet. An influx of asylum seekers and unskilled immigrants is the last thing areas like Sunderland or Scarboro needs. Not because the folk are bad people, but nowt else comes close to running an area down imo.
 
Loads of new quality housing being built on the west side of Hartlepool right now.
Two minutes from A19 and Elwick and Hart villages.

I’m not calling them I’m just saying the towns just getting worse
