It isn’t just about that though. It’s about how we played too - we didn’t look too bad last time, and had a few games such as the two 0-0s where we played well and just couldn’t score. That type of game is forgivable without a striker. Folding and getting batted 5-1 at home isn’t.

We started the season well, When our strikers were injured earlier in the season, we went from averaging 1.6 points per game to 1 point per game, winning 1 in 8.

We got the striker/s back, and we flew up the table. Got our average up to about 1.7 points per game, which is play off form, and we were as good as fourth, with an unreal goal difference we also hammered boro 2-0. Boro are clear third, with our striker we looked Head and shoulders above them.

Now our striker is injured again, we are dropping like a stone, and the average points per game without one is 1, or relegation battle form.

Mowbray has overseen all of this, I’d say there’s a pretty damning piece of evidence, which is very, very clear. The evidence points strongly to you talking absolute shit, and the lack of striker being the big issue not your hunch.

There’s a reason why every other team up and down the leagues has strikers, our form this season without one is case and point why it’s ridiculous.

Of course, at which point success becomes less black and white. I do think that not being in the playoffs with this squad is a failure though.

Everything contributes. But having 11 unfit players on the pitch is a lot more significant than losing 1 player. Not to underplay the impact of either. Stewart not playing didn’t cause us to concede 5 at home at the SoL for only the second time ever in a competitive game though.

We were on top all game, didn’t look like conceding at all and dominated possession. Did everything right up until not having a striker hurt us in the final third. Which is what I meant by forgivable due to the striker problems. Conceding 5 at home is nothing to do with Stewart.

Well if I was Alex Neil I'd be thinking after the 2nd went in - they're toothless, they've got no outlet - let's go for in it.
Man United were marginally the better team first half against Liverpool but the goals they also conceded either side of half-time knocked them for six.

We weren't on top all game against Blackpool at all i get what you're saying about Stewart but it's a factor as we had nobody to hold the ball

I’d argue “going for it” and opening the game up is the worst thing you can do against a team without a striker. An open game would suit our wingers a lot more, and at 2-0 we need to score, not them.
