Mogga

Aye. When he’s had a couple of strikers to choose from we have one of the better records in the league.

It’s gone to shit lately but he’s trying to find summit that works and it’s not happening.
Centre mid is as big a problem as up front.

Is Mowbray the best we can attract?

I want him to do well (as I do any SAFC gaffer) but his overall managerial record is pretty average.

This is Sunderland. He'll be sacked early October
When was the last time a manager got a full season, from first game to last?

Moyes?

It doesn't seem to happen very often for us.

Reid was obviously here years and McCarthy too.

Struggling with any others. Most either started well into a season and/or were sacked before season end.

Blame the recruitment side mate.

I didn’t think he was but the football he had us playing with a proper centre forward taking up the space to allow Roberts, Clarke and Diallo to take up was class.
I agree it was excellent at times but conversely many teams seem to have sussed us out tactically of late, even allowing for the lack of strikers.

We need to see that Mowbray can overcome this in the next few matches, especially after last Saturday’s absolute shambles, a third successive defeat against very ordinary sides. This late season slump also happened regularly at his previous clubs. It’s a worrying trend.

The reason why they have sussed us mate is because we have got no presence up front occupying defenders. Was only 4 weeks ago we played the form side in the league off the pitch.

That’s the biggest and most valid argument in his defence and it is embarrassing that a club our size have one inexperienced 19 year old as a striking option. Over two years since we signed a striker who wasn’t brought in as a loanee.

Jack Ross got one full season didnt he? As for two full seasons.. even McCarthy didnt.. Keane almost did (since he started a few games in to season 1). So since Peter Reid not a single manager has managed two complete seasons. Absolute madness.

Aye don’t disagree with that

Jack Ross did get 1 year.

Think before him it was Bruce

If he carries on the recent run with bizarre selections absolutely no way.

We went into Saturday with no holding midfielders and one attacking midfielder in Neil who was out of form asking to sit deep.

Utter madness. That’s on the manager and we’re in a rut now sadly.
