Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

it amazes me how old people transitioned from the wireless to sky tv if i'm honest
Well there was something called terrestrial TV for about 40 years in between.
I go out regularly without my phone, it's one of life's little pleasures.
I was out earlier and the number of people who just walk along the pavement staring at their mobile is ridiculous. When they arrive where they are going they continue looking at their phone. It's bonkers. What's wrong with taking in the environment around you as you walk along a street.
When they are at the match I bet they spend half the time looking at their phone.

In fact I can't think of any older folk I know, who actually do know how to use smart phones.

My dads 79. He's got his bank card in google wallet, as well as his Covid pass. He read how to do it on his phone, and basically followed the instructions.

He couldn't believe how easy it was as he'll tell you himself, he's anything but tech savvy.

Just had a email from the club, early bird sale for the rest of us not in the PC on sale 20th March, nothing about anyone been allowed to keep plastic cards, just says digital cards only

Its estimated that 95% of the population will be using smartphones by 2025 (it was 85% last year).

We will have to bite the bullet at some stage.
i'd imagine that anyone who has a smartphone can use it for basic things like actually 'phoning somebody or texting but there's a difference between doing that and someone being savvy enough to use them to do what they're asking us to do.

i remember travelling during covid and there was a 'naughty corner' where folk who were dicking about trying to find their vaccination/test results/locator forms were sent to sort their stuff out while those of us who used paper copies were through in a crack. isn't technology great?

Nope...85% of the population were using the smart features

what features? source?
Internet seems to be the easiest feature for surveys to measure. In terms of sources it's all pretty high so I looked at the first one...some have it higher (e.g. Uswitch at 88%), some have it lower (e.g. Deloitte at 78%).

A staggering number of people aged 16-65 are using Whatsapp and the received wisdom is that 90-91% of users in that age bracket are using internet.

I can't speak to the statistical significance of the various data sources but they all seem to largely agree that the number is high and growing.

that's just waffle. there's a big difference between using a 'phone to browse the net/using whatsapp and being able to do what they're expecting folk to do.
the number might be high and growing but that doesn't make it right to ask folk to have an up to date compatible device, download a wallet then transfer a digital ticket into this 'wallet'
just because something is easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for everyone.

There isn't a big difference at all...it's just another app and it's a piece of piss. It's much more inconvenient to actually travel to the games than it is to open an app or double click a 'home' button to use Apple Pay or the Android equivalent.

The kick back on this from people that have the capability of loading the app and using the app on their current device is pathetic and takes away from people that genuinely can't access the technology.

I sometimes go out without my phone so the club can fuck off or I don't have any space for ANOTHER app on my state of the art phone should not be taken as acceptable excuses. Folk whinging for the sake of whinging. Download the app, download the ticket, scan in and stop going on pathetic.
Ironic considering they are all accessing it digitally.

😂😂 Unbelievable.

It's something new so 68% are booting off for no reason

I get how tech can be intimidating to people who haven't grown up with it but using google wallet and Apple Pay is not beyond anyone with opposable thumbs.

What's your problem?

it's not a matter of just another app though is it?
first you need to download that app then work out how to transfer the ticket to the app then work out how to get the ticket displayed in the wallet so it'll scan at the turnstile providing your 'phone supports nfc whatever that's supposed to be.
aye, loads easier than flashing a small bit of plastic.
the rest of your post is just drivel and condescending.

To counter that I think it's refreshing that people aren't just all about themselves and are concerned for the fans who this is going to cause problems for.
