Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

Putting aside the elderly chap protesting for a moment. Just reading this and the digital season ticket thread with some disdain really.

Every corporate entity in the developed world are making sustainability a key theme of how they carry out their business.

Less consumption, less environmental impact, less waste. You’d have to be pretty obtuse not to understand or to complain about that.
The cards already exist. By getting rid of them all the club is actually creating waste.

There's a lot of companies doing similar types of hypocrisy, and it's almost like it just some kind of weird box ticking exercise. A couple of years back, in the body shop owa lass was asked to swap her plastic loyalty card for an environmentally friendly cardboard one. So instead of just keeping a perfectly usable card, you now need to dispose of the old plastic one & chop down trees for the replacements. It's all just crackers.

They haven't said it, that's the point.
The only people who are saying it, are the fans reps. The rest of the supporters are completely in the dark about this.
They said it at the Senior Supporters meeting last week but maybe the should put it in the public domain

I remember while standing watching the anti board/murray protests by the fancy gates after a Blackburn defeat being told to leave the clubs grounds by a young PC. "there's been a request by the owners for everyone to be moved on" etc. "Tell your sergeant to ask the owners if they really want to be seen to be throwing their fellow shareholders out off their own property?" Sgt came over and exhaled deeply when PC told him then wandered off speaking to someone on his radio about it.
We wandered off for a pint when the arsehole cop on the horse seemed to realise he wasn't scaring those sitting down by dancing up close to them. Ive since been told the shareholder news didn't go down well when the top cop told them in the boardroom.

What a daft and patronising argument.

I already have a season card.

Good luck to the lad, however as long as they dont scrap the cards all together which I'm hoping is the case. I was talking to a young lad who sits behind me on Saturday about it and he can't wait for it to start as he uses his phone for everything....time moves on..

My card is in the drawer upstairs, just needs reactivation when I pay.

Bet you drink that bottled water from the never ending springs , but never mind you can keep recycling the bottles , at no cost to the environment of course.

Yeah but apart from that, remember we where in league 1 last year and must always remember that

I think you can rightly say remember where we were this time last year when it comes to on field issues, in league one and it looked extremely likely we'd not be gaining promotion.. Again!

Off the field is there ever really an excuse? Standards of customer service should always be high regardless of what league we're in, and that standard hasn't gotten even the tiniest bit better since leaving league one.

Reminds me of the giro/pension change. Loads of oldies up in arms because they now had to use a card and press a few buttons for their money.

I do understand there is challenges like juggling cards for kids, but for some it’s just plain refusal to learn something new and evolve.

I don't think that's fare on old folk, some are at an age they've done all the learning and evolving they can manage, that point comes to us all. And for something as trivial as gaining access to a football ground needing a phone/ be able to use it get someone to setup emails accounts etc etc when a piece of plastic you already have in your wallet or purse did that just as quickly and easily I understand completely the push back from older fans.
So what are the benefits to us as supporters or customers as the club call us these days, can’t see why they can’t be 2 options when renewing

1 keep you original card and top it up every season

2 choose a new digital season card

Keeps everyone happy imo
There's literally no benefit in reality, your card works just as fast if not faster as this is going to work.
