Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

Was at Englands first game in Qatar when the digital ticketing went to fuck, luckily was early enough to sort out without any hassle, you can’t beat paper tickets

Was waiting for this and can’t believe it took 10 or more posts.

I what world is having a digital season ticket a bad thing?

I appreciate the guy is getting on a but luddites really frustrate me sometimes.

Club handled it wrong though. A better pr stunt would have been to reason with him and get him in and show him that a digital ticket wont harm him.

In the world (this world, this region, this city) where not everyone has a smartphone.

There will be a canny few over 65 who have never used a smartphone. My dad is one. If I chose not to renew then he'd be knackered to get in with a digital ticket.

I would imagine it’s a very small minority of people, but that doesn’t mean they should just be left with no other option. As long as the club provide an alternative in those cases I don’t think it’s too much of an issue.

Pleased the ban on discussing this on Pure Football has been lifted. Common sense approach from whichever mod has overruled the original decision, which is nice to see.

I agree. Going digital is the right thing and will benefit 95%+. Just need to cater to the handful who will struggle and have attended all their lives. Hopefully it isn't just a tough shit attitude.

They've not exactly rushed to correct, amend or clarify the original statement.

You would have expected a correction over the weekend wouldn't you
I'm really not confident they'll do anything except give a couple of people a a print off QR code or something.

Don't believe they're interested at all and would rather only help the odd fee who kick off and pay a £10 admin fee. Shocking really.
Was the update there would be an alternative just hearsay?
Just come from somebody on here, that's it so far.

Charging £10 'admin' fee to renew in person is probably their get out. Essentially use that fee to sort people going down to complain about it.

They haven't even confirmed it's a QR code have they, thought I saw yesterday that it might be something else that's more secure

Hope they get ripped into at the next meeting and we get the minutes I think the lads at the meetings have been too soft on Davison and co and it’s time to stop being that.

Aye there'd been nothing said. Just guessing tbh like, but think they could sort something out for those who really need an alternative. But they'd just rather not

I'm sure there will be confirmation tomorrow, it's not like it's been announced and the fans haven't said anything.

Surely it can't be just ignored?

According to ALS. Gus volunteers with SO37 and is regularly seen collecting flags in at half time.

If it’s true that the club removed him then it’s shocking.
Disgraceful. Davison needs to sort the fking shambles out he has created before punishing supporters making a legitimate point about the ineptness and discrimination displayed by the club.

I have gave them the benefit of the doubt until recently but they are starting to worry me.

Not putting a net up where the away fans are is a disgrace and shows how much of a fuck they give.
Working with SO37 then telling them they can't put displays on at the last minute.
Forcing things on the fans like going cashless and digital season tickets. And if you need any help from the ticket office you can pay a tenner.
Leaving us without a single striker. I don't care how hard they 'tried' to get one, they simply had to and they didn't. I don't believe they care, so long as we stay in this league and they make money off the players we can sell they'll be happy.
Not opening the ticket office or club shop until there was a total backlash from the fans, and even then they barely have any stock. These are just the things I can think of off the top of my head.

I honestly think there would be hell on if the last owners were the ones doing this.

The having to pay an extra tenner when you've already paid over four hundred quid is out of order. The cost of one of those cards will be pennies.

I can see the logic in there being a fee, if only to prevent them ending up with 30% of people demanding a physical card because they’ve always had one or just to be difficult. You can imagine a lot of the same people who order food, concert tickets, taxis etc on their phone deciding they won’t do it for the football.

Not particularly fair on those with a genuine reason but there you go.
