Mowbray

We haven’t got a centre forward mate. Gelthardt is not up to the job. We were completely fine before Stewart got injured again.

I’m not excusing today mind, that was disgusting.

Mowbray saying Gelhardts confidence is shot. Not surprised really. Reminds me of when Grigg came and missed a load of sitters early on then fell apart.

Gelhardts movement was decent first few games but seems his head dropped after missing those chances. Hoped goal v Rotherham might have helped him but he missed another soon after as has been pretty terrible since. Not even seeing that movement.

If he doesn’t add more physicality into the team then he’s a fool. O’Nien and Ekwah should get a run in the team together. Give us a solid base to let the attacking players do their thing. I like Dan Neil a lot but he needs a few weeks rest.
Ekwah hadn’t played a first team game in his career before coming to SAFC.

Let’s try and sign 32 year old Yann M’Vila, he’d come no bother. Type of player we need in the dressing room.

They got giddy thinking we were going up and lash out. Hate it.

The thing is I get it we took a hiding today. BUT we are a young team, speakman is young as well and he's made a big mistake not covering the centre forward role adequately enough and TM has made selection mistakes but for Christ's sakes other teams will be loving our defeatist attitude here.

Yes 100%. I knew we’d get pasted at some point. We’ll hit our aims for the season. That may not be enough for some people

Other teams ?
Well let’s not tell it as it is as spies of other teams are watching

The system we play to get the absolute best out of players like Clarke, Amad and Roberts you’ve got to have a centre forward who can lead the line and hold the ball up and occupy a couple of defenders.

Gelthardt can’t play that role and it’s really showing.

Just watched that Penna appeal where Clarke gets a hand in the face. There wasn't anyone apart from Clarke appealed. Are they not arsed or what. Actually most decisions that go against us, there's very little appealing. It's your team and team mates getting cheated, make your mouth go.

Tbh people keep calling him a no 10 but looks nowt like one to me as 10s can link up play. He’s very much more a Grigg type striker in that he’s not a target man or a focal point but will get chances with his movement (or at least looked that way to begin with).

Diallo and Clarke should both be able to play with a false 9 type player who can link up and have the vision to play them in (in the absence of a focal target man type striker) but we don’t seem to have a striker, a false 9 type player, or a more orthodox 10 so absolutely nowt is happening in that area of the pitch.

So what you’re saying is, in our attempt to not sign another Will Grigg, we brought in…….

Because Gibson is using their losses to reduce the tax bill on his main business.
That's the source of his funds you're talking about. That's completely irrelevant tbh.

Surely wages higher than turnover should be crippling them, no? FFP only allows an owner to put in 8 million each season? Or can an owner put in 8 million, plus rack up losses, so it essentially equates to 13 million a year, and just write off those losses at any point?
