Really can't see how we can get through the remaining games

So what team should he be picking then ? With no striker it wont make any difference, we've achieved our ambition for this season, can't wait for it to end because it's just frustrating watching at the moment. Let's hope the recruitment boys get it right in the summer ! FTM

Striker situation is a hope but it was clear today we needed more strength in midfield. The amount of time we had the ball stolen from us in the middle was shocking, ekwah or onein should have been on at HT, also it was absolute insanity to start a game with one CM

Not sure what the result has got to do with Mowbray though? Certainly, he can’t take MOST blame for it,

Of all the people at the club, he’s the ONLY one on record in January, saying what we needed to recruit. He’s literally the only person at the club who we can categorically say - based on his public statements - seems to know how football works.
He’s the manager. He’s been praised when we’ve being doing well. He can fuck off for me if getting turned over like that at home off stoke.

He called it right in January - he said how important it was to sign an experienced replacement for Evans, and a couple of competent strikers. He was ignored. Just like Alex Neil was ignored in the summer. And to be fair - just like Lee Johnson was ignored, when he warned against signing Defoe.

Personally, I think blaming the ONE person at the club who we KNOW called it right in January, is a bit mental.

Without a recognised striker. The club have really let mowbray and the fans down in the January window mind.

There's absolutely no options for mowbray. Gelhardt is a young kid who is never ever a forward never mind one that has to play up front on his own.

Diallo is never a number 9 and tbh has been poor for weeks. Clarke isnt good enough to play up there either.

I fear the rest of this season is going to be a hard slog but thankfully we've got enough points in the bag to stay up as we will pick up a few more points along the way.

I've went from enjoying this season to not looking forward to the remaining games
More than lacking strikers. Central midfield is as weak as piss and in general we need experienced, proven footballers to supplement the younger players in the squad. We also need regular full backs who can get up and down the pitch and attack and defend in equal measure and develop a relationship with the players directly in front of them. Currently we are so weak here too. Cirkin is our only proper left back but is frequently injured and Hume is very honest but extremely limited.

By not signing a striker for 2 years?

They signed Simms on loan as backup for Stewart when we play with one striker. Fair enough it’s shite but devils advocate says we’ve been unlucky.

Imo the move would’ve been to keep Wyke as a third option.
We're pretty much screwed, let's hope we can just keep our heads above water and get some strikers in asap.

Basically this. Mods should sticky this on the front page and disable all other comments for the night!

What about Pritchard and Roberts who played Central and got away with hardly any stick then?
What about them?
Roberts seemed to be lost on what he was meant to be doing - along with Pritchard.
But surely you noticed this.
At the end of the day - all 11 players were shocking today - and must collectively shoulder the blame for this embarrassing display.

I’m the first person to say I never had any hopes or expectations. Whilst everyone was talking promotion, I never expected us to even make an impact. Win loads or shock many big teams. We couldn’t.

A team new to the league and having spent 4 long years in a small pond with small fish suddenly being thrown into a deeper lake with the big fish. What is such a team meant to do?

One advantage however is that a season is a kind of win-win. A defeat really isn’t a big deal. You didn’t expect to. And if you draw or win it’s a bonus. What have you lost?

It was inevitable mate. How TM got the team playing do well for so long is one of the greatest periods of management in my 52 years of attending. Up there with the period Jimmy Adamson managed with Rowell, Elliott, Arnott in 76/77.
It’s very sad, as we had a top 4 squad with Stewart fit. The inability to sign a striker is beyond incompetent and someone needs to be held to account for it. Absolutely destroyed our season.

Sadly I think Speakman is from the Matt Hancock school of politics and it will be TM who is held to account to protect his precious arse. I find the whole arrogance over the striker situation insulting.

Surely you can see TM is trying every trick in the book to get the balance right so we score goals and can still defend effectively. He got it wrong today granted but only because he is trying to put square pegs in round holes. We have been found out physically and mentally it’s all falling apart and TM is left picking up the pieces be as we don’t have the balance of experience and physical presence nor a bloody striker
