Thanks, will see if I can incorporate the names into the tracker.

. Our gates are good but not remarkable as I believe at least another nine clubs - Man Utd, City, Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham would draw either similar or much higher crowds.

So the most successful clubs in England, the richest club in the world, us and West Ham. Fair enough I agree that group is the best 10 supported clubs in England.

Btw we had bigger crowds in our 4th year in L1 than Man City had in their first.

It’s context. Which you have had no regard to.

You talk all about these three clubs that might better our attendances, and that may be true, but how many of them watched their team relegated with 19 points (02/03), then the next time in the prem watched them relegated with 15 points (05/06)?

How many of them have watched their team go a whole season at home winning one game (05/06)?

2016/17 looks comparatively good compared to the above, when it was pitiful.

How many have seen their team go virtually a whole calendar year without winning a home game (16/17 - 17/18)?

How many have seen their team do back to back relegations (16/17 - 17/18)?

Put all those others you quote through all the shit we’ve endured and four years in league one, then judge them.

The fact so many people still turn out to watch us after doing so little for so many years, and having endured some awful seasons.

For the record, when the mags were relegated in 09 they immediately lost 15k on the gate. That would only have increased had they had a shit season in the Championship and not bounced straight back.

Even the majority of fans from every other club in the country would agree that out support is unbelievable when you consider the last 2 decades. It's only this plum who doesn't. I wouldn't bother arguing with him tbh

Which tells me that many modern day fans see a match more as a way of feeling part of something, being able to meet up with friends or have a drink. Every club now has a majority of fans who will turn up. Even Bradford City, having a moderate season in the fourth tier are averaging over 17,000. Our crowds are good but not remarkable. The interest in the game in England is remarkable.

Aye, there's a whole raft of clubs who have averaged nearly 40k when nowhere near the automatic places in the second tier. Loads, in fact.

It's taken me half the day to get three tickets in the the PC. What a fuck on it was.
Fair play to you mate for trying.

When are the people in charge of this at the club going to realise this is a fking mess.

Two of my mates have stopped going because it’s just to difficult.

No doubt there will be someone along shortly saying it’s a doddle. For some with an ease of technology but for many it’s prohibits their attendance. We have long ceased being the caring club and if Davison can’t sort this or thinks there is no issue he needs to find new employment imho.
I am going to stick my neck on the line and call it at 43,900 by tomorrow.

Tremendous

can they not go to the ticket office and buy them?

The big clubs certainly would, such as the Manchester and London clubs if they had suddenly found themselves with a couple of relegations. A struggling West Ham team are averaging over 60,000. Their all time record was I believe around 41,000 in the days when the three world cup winners played for them. Is that not remarkable ? The game has changed so much since the Premier League was formed and now even more in the time since the pandemic. Our gates are good but not remarkable as I believe at least another nine clubs - Man Utd, City, Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham would draw either similar or much higher crowds. Are not Southend's crowds remarkable for a team who at best can only make the National League play offs. They are drawing the same average as when they were in the second tier in the early nineties. Nowt wrong with our support but hardly remarkable.

Well read my reply
