Would anyone have the beams read and white instead of just white or would that be too much? They could definitely make concourses more homely like
some of the genuine Leitch criss cross.
They started putting branch signs round then stopped! Even continuing that on would be good! They could probably even charge branches a bit have a spotThere are loads of little touches that could be added to make it less identikit and more Sunderland. For example, the concrete (below the boxes separating the west lower with premier concourse) could be draped in banners, similar to what Man United have, celebrating our illustrious past and former heroes. Little bits of Roker Park could be incorporated in there somewhere. The old clockstand clock or a replica, the Welcome to Sunderland sign, some of the genuine Leitch criss cross. Some proper stand names. We really aren’t good at celebrating what makes our grand old club great.
People forget this. Finally putting some pics up, after being in this house for a year, one of them is a portrait shot of the main stand at Roker, I loved the place and didn't realise at the time, but God, the old lass looked tired and oldMost grounds have a bit of wear and tear after years of use. Been to the likes of Nou Camp even that has issues in the concourse. Most grounds are the same and worse than ours
And if you look properly you can see where a programme to renew is already 25% doneThe coating is peeling of the liner panels and supporting steelwork in places
Where would I look to find that? And if you look properly you can see where a programme to renew is already 25% done
It won’tAnd as I said it will if the failing coating isn't repaired soon
It would make it look like allotmentsAye but not in the middle of a bloody car park. It could easily have been incorporated in the stadium.
Ok exposed steel in a coastal environment won't degrade anytime soonIt won’t

Mild Steel is coated for a reason. If the coating starts failing, the metal will oxidise and the design life will dramatically reduce. If there are any welds, which there will be I’d assume, they will begin to crack. You don’t want failed welds on structural steel.Hardly falling apart like.
I will let kingspan technical know that they don't need to coat their liner panels then as it will be "fine"It will be fine

I’m a metallurgical engineering consultant and can confirm it will be fine.I will let kingspan technical know that they don't need to coat their liner panels then as it will be "fine"

All good then, will save construction a fortune not needing to coat steels and cladding / roofing panelsI’m a metallurgical engineering consultant and can confirm it will be fine.

I didn’t say that but the stadium is around 2km from the sea which makes it borderline low/medium corrosivity…in other words it would take a number of years to significantly impact the structural integrity, which has likely been overspecced in the first place. All good then, will save construction a fortune not needing to coat steels and cladding / roofing panels
