Forthcoming gigs.

I've not been to the City Hall for a good while - at least five years or so. I know you never used to be able to take ya pints in but I'm sure somebody had told me that had changed? Or a meringue?
Think it’ll be shit like. Something daft like £6 a pint for daft Carlsberg cans in there, but a few months since I’ve been.

It’s your generic o2 sponsored gig venue that serves a purpose but compared to independent venues is just a stack em high charge them through the nose type venue.

Shame like, cos the venue has genuine character in asthetics.

Also, last couple of times I’ve been in it’s been dangerously hot. & I don’t say that lightly like someone who’ll find owt to moan about, but it was “fuck me” hot. They could’ve sorted some proper air con out since then like.
Yes, you can take pints from the downstairs bar into the hall these days and there are cans bars in the hall itself.
Nice one.
Sorry! I’ve read that all wrong. You mean in the actual arena bit

I thought you meant rocking up with a bag of cans to take in

I am aware I now sound like a reet tit!

They’ve got some pop up bars along the side wall at the back of the actual hall

A smidge shy of £7 for a pint of San Miguel.

 Ya silly sod. I thought you were contradicting yaself with that second post.

The last time I was there I had to take a hip flask to wet me whistle mid-set.

Happy with San Miguel.

£7 is par for the course when you go to a gig these days. I just slap the contactless* and don't give it a thought.

*It's much easier to be ignorant over the price of beer these days when you're not handing actual money over.

It pisses me off when a massive organisation like Academy Music Group charge through the nose for drinks and independent venues such as The Parish in Huddersfield charge £3.30 for a can of Red Stripe.

Mate's managed to get us some cheap tickets to Black Star Riders at the City Hall on Friday. Am I right in thinking you can take ya beer in nowadays?
Sounds like he subscribes to the list I do. Haven't had many free/cheap ticket offers recently, but this was one.

They can't just make a reasonable profit on drinks, they have to take the absolute piss. I make a point of never buying anything from the venue. I was trapped into buying a non-alcoholic beer and a gin and tonic at the Fire Station. I think it was £12.

Naaa, he's gotten 'em through someone at work.

What's this list?

Haven’t been since it’s been done out. Does it feel very different?

Is there still two rooms?
There's still another room, but the balcony is now open to everyone (standing) rather than being seated.

I had to move upstairs to the balconies because the lower level was so busy.

That's got 'Fan crushed to death at pop concert' written all over it. I'm surprised that their licence allows it.

When it was the o2 it was always pretty strict on only allowing floor tickets through the door.

We did for Wolf Alice last year.
